Basal cell carcinoma is the most common nonmelanotic skin cancer. It has variable clinical and histological subtypes that vary in their aggressiveness and liability to recurrence and metastasis. Chronic ultraviolet radiation exposure is considered to be the main risk factor for developing basal cell carcinoma; therefore, it typically arises on sun-exposed skin, mainly the head and neck.

Ebook "Percutaneous absorption of UV filters contained in sunscreen cosmetic products: Development of analytical methods" describes the development and validation of analytical methods to estimate the processes set in motion by percutaneous absorption of UV filters in sunscreen cosmetic products. León describes these methods in both in vitro and non-invasive in vivo methodologies. Currently dermatologists recommend the use of sunscreen products not only under conditions of extreme exposure to the sun but also in daily situations.

Solar maculopathy is a well-described clinical entity that usually occurs in patients that have gazed directly the sun. In this report we describe the first two cases of solar maculopathy in individuals exposed to sunlight reflected from the screen of mobile devices in the absence of direct sun gaze.

The purpose of this study was to examine the development of NMSC between adults who did and did not use HCTZ, as well as those with high and low sun exposure. Keratinocyte cancer (KC) rates are increasing in the U.S., particularly in older age groups. Use of hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ), due to its photosensitizing properties, and high sun exposure are two known NMSC risk factors, but their synergistic efects are undetermined.

Research the interactions between floating solar power plant and reservoir with great working height
Vietnam has many reservoirs with great potential for developing solar power on its surface. The operation of reservoirs with a large working height will increase or decrease the sun exposure of the panels, affecting the output of the floating solar power plant. In addition, the reservoir environment helps reduce the temperature, increasing the energy output for solar power plants.

Deficiency of vitamin D is a multifaceted phenomenon. On one hand, it depends on sun exposure and consumption pattern while on the other hand, it depends onit’s stability in target food matrix. It is assumed that the supplementation of bioactive phenolic compounds in target food matrix could result in higher stability of vitamin D.

The effects of exposure to ultraviolet radiation are a significant concern in Australia which has one of the highest incidences of skin cancer in the world. Despite most skin cancers being preventable by encouraging consistent adoption of sun-protective behaviours, incidence rates are not decreasing.

The performance of double slope stepped (complementary to each other on the basis of sun exposure) solar still has been investigated experimentally in seasonally varying climatic conditions in dry tropical region at Amroha, India. This innovative still design showed significant improvement (by 106 %) in the productivity, compared to existing models.

Coccidioidomycosis a zoonotic fungal infection caused by the dimorphic fungus Coccidioides immitis acquiring from environment through the risk of exposure to infectious arthrospores with subclinical or clinical which is affecting the dogs reared in house with less exposure to sun. The present report describes the disseminated form of coccidiomycosis in Labrador dogs which affected the cutaneous, osseous, cardiac, ocular, nervous system, or other organ with variable clinical symptoms and so far not recorded in this Cauvery Delta region of Tamilnadu.

Sowing of seeds with seed drill at proper seed rate, depth and covering them with soil is very important. This allows plants to get sufficient sunlight and nutrients from the soil and also saves them from being eaten by birds or being dried up due to exposure to sun. Meanwhile it ensures improved ratio of crop yield with saving in time and labour. Small land holding in Indian farms limits farm mechanization on Indian farms. Conventional methods of seeding will results in low seed placements, less area covered per unit time, physical health issue like back ache etc.

Accumulating evidence suggests an increased prevalence of vitamin D deficiency in the Middle East. In this context, we aimed to determine whether the prevalence of vitamin D deficiency is related to degree of physical activity and sun exposure among apparently healthy Saudi children and adolescents, a little studied population.

Application of Drying Techniques in Food Processing Drying is one of the oldest preservation processes available to the mankind, on that we can track since prehistoric times. In today food market dried foods play an important role in the food supply chain. As for fruits and vegetables it can be estimated that they constitute about 1% of the total drying in the food industry, by large being the grains the most important. The main feature of this process consists on lowering the water content in order to avoid or slow down food spoilage by microorganism.

An increase in outdoor activities and habits of human frequently result in more exposure to UV radiation of sun. UV radiation is a known carcinogen and also responsible for sunburn and tanning. Different protective measures such as sunscreen lotions and protective clothing/accessories are being used for protection against harmful UV effects of sunlight. Sunscreen gives protection for a certain period of time therefore sun-protective clothing is the single most effective way to protect oneself from the harmful UV rays for a long time.

Perifollicular swelling and redness are desired clinical endpoints. They indicate that the patient has been treated with an appropriate fluence. The sunburned feeling and swelling usually last one to three hours. Applying ice will give relief and reduce the swelling duration. A topical cortisone cream can also be used. Redness can last for a few days but can by easily covered by applying makeup. If there are signs of epidermal damage, the patient should use an antibiotic ointment or call if there are problems. Patients should avoid sun exposure....

Cancer of the skin (including melanoma and basal and squamous cell skin cancers) is by far the most common of all types of cancer. An estimated 3.5 million basal and squamous cell skin cancers are diagnosed each year (occurring in about 2.2 million Americans, as some people have more than one). Most of these are basal cell cancers. Squamous cell cancers occur less often. The number of these cancers has been increasing for many years. This is probably due to a combination of better skin cancer detection, people getting more sun exposure, and people living longer.

Actinic keratosis, also known as solar keratosis, is a pre-cancerous skin condition caused by too much exposure to the sun. Actinic keratoses are usually small (less than 1/4 inch across), rough or scaly spots that may be pink-red or flesh-colored. Usually they develop on the face, ears, backs of the hands, and arms of middle-aged or older people with fair skin, although they can arise on other sun-exposed areas. People with one actinic keratosis usually develop many more. Actinic keratoses tend to grow slowly. They usually do not cause any symptoms.

Squamous cell carcinoma in situ, also called Bowen disease, is the earliest form of squamous cell skin cancer. “In situ” means that the cells of these cancers are still only in the epidermis and have not invaded the dermis. Bowen disease appears as reddish patches. Compared with actinic keratoses, Bowen disease patches tend to be larger (sometimes over 1/2 inch across), redder, scalier, and sometimes crusted. Like invasive squamous cell skin cancers, the major risk factor is too much sun exposure. Bowen disease can also occur in the skin of the anal and genital areas.

This uncommon type of skin cancer develops from neuroendocrine cells (hormone-making cells that resemble nerve cells in some ways) in the skin. They are most often found on the head, neck, and arms but can start anywhere. These cancers are thought to be caused in part by sun exposure and in part by Merkel cell polyomavirus (MCV). About 8 out of 10 Merkel cell carcinomas are thought to be related to MCV infection. MCV is a common virus. Many people are infected with MCV, but it usually causes no symptoms. In a small portion of people with this infection,...
