The present experiment on wood apple conducted at the Horticultural Research Station, Mondouri of Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya to find out the effect of mulching and supplemented irrigation on plant growth, yield and fruit quality of wood apple (Feronia limonia Swingle).The experiments were laid out in a Randomized Block Design.

Cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.) is the most important cash crop and there is a demand for simultaneous increase in the productivity of cotton, edible oilseeds and fodders to fulfil the diversified needs of growing population. For this purpose, cotton-based intercropping seems to be a promising strategy. Short duration legume fodders are potential sources of nutrients during summer especially atmospheric nitrogen fixing which are supplement of inorganic fertilizers.

Water availability for agriculture in the country is projected to go down to around 70 per cent by 2025 which undoubtedly will limit the country’s capacity to provide expected food security. Under this water crisis scenario, grey water - an alternate source to supplement the overall water use is the need of hour. Characterization of grey water with special reference to key water quality parameters signifies immense importance for further reutilization so far the water productivity is concerned.

The present study was conducted to evaluate the effect of herbal feed supplement shatavari (Asparagus racemosus) in terms of qualitative and quantitative parameters of milk, in crossbred cows. The cows were divided in four groups. Group G1 was control group, in which the animals receive experimental feed without any other feed supplements, whereas the animals of experimental group 2 (G2), group 3 (G3) and group 4 (G4) were fed a similar feed along with shatavari root powder 40 gm, 80 gm and 120 gm respectively.

A field experiment was conducted at Agriculture Research Station, Badnapur on a clayey soil during kharif season of 2016-17 to find out the effect of with two factors viz., spacing (three levels: S1-120 cm x 30 cm spacing, S2-120 cm x 45 cm spacing, S3-120 cm x 60 cm) and four irrigation levels (irrigation at 50% Epan through drip (I1), irrigation at 75% Epan through drip (I2), irrigation at, 100% Epan through drip (I3), supplemental irrigation at 50% flowering through furrows (I4) with 12 treatments combinations.

A Dynamic Programing (DP) model is developed to allocate optimum supplemental irrigation to crop for receives maximum net annual return from the cropped area under land and water availability constraints in the OFR based rainfed agricultural system. The model integrates the dynamics associated with the water released by supplemental irrigation from the OFR to the actual water utilized by the crops at farm level.

An in vitro protocol for plant regeneration through organogenesis was established for Picrorhiza kurroa Royle Ex. Benth (Scrophulairaceae). The plant is a principle source of glycoside that is Picroside-I, Picroside-II and Kutkoside. Callus was induced on Murashige and Skoog basal medium supplemented with cytokinin (Kn or BA) and auxin (2,4-D/IBA/NAA) using leaf, petiole and stem explants.
