One of the natural consequences of lending practices by banks and credit institutions has been the creation of deferred and doubtful loans- a phenomenon that has become a major concern for these institutions and has had a negative impact on their revenue and expenditure. From an internal perspective, operating costs, work efficiency, profitability, customer service, branch rank, employee wages and salaries, and other qualitative indicators are significantly affected.

This paper provides a thorough discussion and proposes a conceptual framework examining the relationships between herbal-based SMEs’ Islamic practices on halal supply chain integrity and firms’ performance. The framework is established to fill the gap of most recent halal studies that are merely focusing on halal supply chain integrity (HSCI) and examining the influence of supply chain integration (SCI) on halal supply chain integrity (HSCI) and firms’ performance.

This research is a single case study of the impact of the introduction of both information technology (software, hardware and Internet) and a company policy about IT use on the internal operations of a fire truck assembly company and its supply chain relationships. Using Action Research, the research focuses on a fire truck assembly company in Thailand, where supply chain efficiency was not improving and where costs of, and relationships with, both upstream suppliers and downstream clients in the supply chain were increasing.
