The thesis focused on the synthesis of Mn, Ce, C doped ZnO nanoparticles materials and doped ZnO with multi-layered carbon nanotube nanocomposite materials and assessed their photo-oxidative potentiality through photocatalytic reactions of methylene blue (MB) decomposition in aqueous solution under visible light.

In this investigation, neodymium orthoferrite (NdFeO3) nanoparticles has been synthesized through ultrasonic method in the presence of octanoic acid as surfactant. This method comparing to the other methods is very fast and it does not need high temperatures during the reaction.

Pentyl 2-(1H-indole-2-carboxamido)benzoate (5) is obtained in good yield as stable crystals by reaction of pentyl 2-amino benzoate (6) with indole-2-carbonyl chloride acid (7) in the presence of pyridine. The crystal structure of 5 confirms the presence of intramolecular hydrogen bonding (N-H…O) which produces a six-membered ring, and the molecules are linked together by intermolecular hydrogen forces (N-H…O).

A Convenient and green synthesis of 4H-pyran derivatives via one-pot multicomponent reaction of aromatic aldehydes, malononitrile and ethyl acetoacetate using KOH loaded CaO as a catalyst under solvent free condition is reported. The synthesis, structural identification of four novel cobalt and ironbased metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), named VNU-10 (cobalt-based MOF), VNU-15 (iron-based MOF, VNU = Vietnam National University), Fe-NH2-BDC and Fe-BTC have been done by single crystal x-ray diffraction. Full characterization and application of VNU-10, VNU-15 were undertaken, while preliminary characterizations have been done for Fe-NH2-BDC and Fe-BTC.
