Synthesis of fused heterocycles

In the further research and synthesis of hybrid molecules which exhibit highly biological activities, the synthesis of triazole-fused bicyclic heterocycles bearing the benzofuran has been undertaken. A facile, convenient and good yielding synthesis of novel benzofuran-bearing 1,2,4-trazole derivatives were described.

A fast and facile one-pot procedure for the preparation of symmetric 5-Aryloyl-1,9-dimethyl-5,9-dihydro-2H-pyrano[2,3-d:6,5-d']dipyrimidine-2,4,6,8(1H,3H,7H)-tetraone derivatives by two-component reaction of N-methylbarbituric acid and arylglyoxalmonohydrates catalyzed by DABCO in ethanol at 50 ºC is described.

Reaction of methyl 2-aryl-5-(chlorosulfonyl)-1,3-oxazole-4-carboxylates with 1H-pyrazol-5-amines and 1H-1,2,4-triazol-5-amines proceeds with the participation of endocyclic aminoazole nitrogen atoms to yield products containing a primary amino group.
