Tacca Leontopetaloides

Nghiên cứu nhằm định danh lại loài Nưa (Tacca leontopeloides (L.) Kuntze) ở Trà Cú (Trà Vinh), đồng thời xác định sự sai khác ở cấp độ phân tử giữa các mẫu tại hai địa điểm khác nhau là Trà Vinh và An Giang. Hai trình tự DNA của gen (matK và rbcL) được sử dụng để phân tích di truyền 5 mẫu lá được lấy từ 5 cây khác nhau (3 mẫu ở Trà Vinh và 2 mẫu ở An Giang).

The aim of the present study was to develop a simplified micropropagation protocol for this species, combining phases of in Vitro propagation and rooting and to assess the genetic stability of in Vitro regenerants using ISSR and flow cytometric analysis. The highest number of roots of all tested treatments was produced on MS medium supplemented with zeatin. Ten randomly chosen in Vitro regenerants were subjected to ISSR and flow cytometric analysis. Thus, the micropropagation method optimized here can be used for highly effective production of true-to-type plants of T.Leontopetaloides.

This study focused on the screening of leaves and tubers of Tacca leontopetaloides (L.) Kuntze collected from different locations for the presence of secondary metabolites and to determine the extent of the environment on these constituents. The study showed the presence of alkaloids, saponins and tannins in the leaf of T. leontopetaloides while only alkaloids were present in the tubers. Variations in the presence of alkaloids and cardiac glycosides in the leaf and tuber samples of the plant were observed.

This study was carried out to assess the propagation of Tacca leontopetaloides (Taccaceae) in Vitro using seed embryos. The seeds were cultured on Murashige & Skoog basal media augmented with various concentrations of single or combined growth hormones to obtain a suitable protocol for plantlet regeneration. Seed embryo germination of 57% was obtained, as against 20% for germination under conventional sowing. Posts study the constituents of leaves, peels and peeled tubers as well as its antioxidant and antimicrobial activities of Tacca cultivated from mountainous regions in Tinh Bien, An Giang Province, Vietnam were investigated. Furthermore, the extract of peels possessed potential antimicrobial activity against Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli and Enterococcus faecalis whilst the extract of others did not show any significant inhibition at the same concentration.

Posts study aimed at investigating the nutrients and antinutrtional factors in order to ascertain their composition in the peels. The peels were collected from Utange and Mbachegh wards in Katsina Ala Local Government Area and Mbaatikyaa ward in Buruku Local Government Area of Benue State.
