A series of 5-substituted-1,3,4-thiadiazole-based fluoroquinolone derivatives were designed as potential antibacterial and anticancer agents using a molecular hybridization approach. The target compounds 16–25 were synthesized by reacting the corresponding N-(5-substituted-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-yl)-2-chloroacetamides with ciprofloxacin or norfloxacin. The purity and identity of the synthesized compounds were determined by the use of chromatographic and spectral techniques (NMR, IR, MS, etc.) besides elemental analysis.

Thiazolidinone derivatives show inhibitory activity (IC50) against the Toxoplasma gondii parasite, as well as high selectivity with high therapeutic index. To disclose the target proteins of the thiazolidinone core in this parasite, we explored in silico the active sites of different T. gondii proteins and estimated the binding-free energy of reported thiazolidinone molecules with inhibitory effect on invasion and replication of the parasite inside host cells.

This study was conducted on 300 farmers in 15 villages viz. Takcham, Tentha, Athokpam, Lameidong, Wabagai, Hiyanglam, Khabi Bomdiar, Wangoi, Uchiwa, Leimapokpam, Irengbam, Maibam, Naharup, Heyanglam, and Top. These 15 villages were selected from 5 districts viz. Thoubal, Kakching, Imphal West, Bishnupur and Imphal East district, respectively. It was aimed to analyses the Socio-personal profile of the farmers practicing the integrated-fishfarming.

This paper sought to examine the effects of training on corporate financial performance of commercial banks. The paper was informed by the Resource-Based Theory, Human Capital Theory and Agency theory. Explanatory research design was adopted. The target population was 869 Employees from 42 commercial banks operating in Kenya according to the CBK supervisory report in 2014. 267employees were selected using Simple random sampling method. Structured questionnaire was used to collect data. Cronbach alpha was used to test Reliability, while factor analysis was used to test validity.

Bovine Leukocyte Adhesion Deficiency (BLAD), Bovine Citrullinaemia (BC), and Complex Vertebral Malformation (CVM) are the common autosomal recessive disorders in cattle affecting dairy industry. The present study was designed to standardize allelespecific PCR based genotyping method for examining the occurrence of these disorders in Indian cattle population. A total of 327 indigenous (Bos indicus), exotic (HF) cattle breeds and HF crossbreds (Bos taurus × Bos indicus) from various parts of India were screened.

Training need assessment is considered to be the integral part of well designed training programme. Training needs are closely linked to learning: the target population is looked at more closely to determine the actual content, context and delivery method of performance intervention. Present study was conducted in two states of India i.e. Uttarakhand and Punjab to assess the training needs of the agri-entrepreneurs. One training center from each state were randomly selected and total 120 respondents, 60 from each state were selected using simple random sampling method.

Interstitial cystitis, protein-protein interaction This study was designed to reveal the predictive targets and biological mechanisms of curcumol against interstitial cystitis (IC). By use of available databases and bioinformatic assays, pathogenetic targets of IC and functional targets of curcumol were identified respectively. A network of functional protein-protein interaction (PPI) was produced before screening the main predictive targets, biological processes and signaling pathways of curcumol against IC.

Polo-like kinase 1 (PLK1), a member of the Polo-like kinase family, plays an important regulatory role in mitosis and cell cycle progression. PLK1 overexpression is correlated with tumourigenesis and poor prognosis in cancer patients. Therefore, the identification of novel compounds that inhibit PLK1 would provide attractive therapeutic approaches. Although some PLK1 kinase inhibitors have been developed, their application has been limited by off-target effects. PLK1 contains a regulatory domain named the Polo-box domain (PBD), which is characteristic only for the Polo-like kinase family.

This paper proposes a new service system that explains the process of social innovation (SI) in education in a developing country. We selected 17 Ashoka cases in the field of education in Bangladesh and analyzed them thematically. Results show that targets for SI (educational opportunities, employment opportunities, and additional educational resources) are related to the first phase of SI where social entrepreneurs foster innovative ideas that effectively solve social problems.
