Targeted temperature management
-
Patients resuscitated after cardiac arrest are reportedly at high risk for infection and sepsis, especially those treated with targeted temperature management (TTM). There is, however, limited evidence suggesting that early antibiotic use improves patient outcomes.

Management of a patient’s body temperature is an important aspect of care that should be addressed by targeted temperature management (TTM). Often, non-invasive methods like forced-air blankets are used. Especially in the operating room this management may be a subsidiary and repetitive task requiring constant observation of the patient’s body temperature and adaption using the limited set of available settings.

Ridge gourd yellow mosaic disease (RgYMD) caused by the strain of Tomato leaf curl New Delhi virus (ToLCNDV) is an emerging disease in India. Early detection of ToLCNDV in ridge gourd has great significance in the management of the disease. An innovative loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) assay was standardized for rapid detection of ToLCNDV. Assay was carried out using the set of six primers (F3, B3, FIP, BIP, LF and BF) specific to the coat protein (CP) gene of the virus.

In addition to ventilation, indoor temperature and humidity conditions, which can change both diurnally and seasonally, have the potential to substantially affect the emissions of VOCs from building materials and alter occupant exposure. In large-scale chamber experiments with new carpet systems, sheet vinyl flooring and wall paint, the air temperature was increased from 23 o C to about 30 o C over a period of 60 h (Hodgson, 1999).

Current efforts to address climate change focus mainly on reducing emissions of greenhouse gases, mainly through cleaner energy strategies, and on attempting to reduce vulnerability of communities at risk by improving infrastructure to meet new energy and water needs. This report attempts to set out a compelling argument for including ecosystem‐based approaches to mitigation and adaptation as a third and essential pillar in national strategies to address climate change. The report is targeted at both Bank task teams and country clients.
