Synthesis and characterization of some derivatives of 1,3-Diisopropyl-4,5-dimethylimidazol-2-ylidene
N-Heterocyclic carbenes are widely used in organic reactions and coordination chemistry. In the present study, 2,3-dihydro-1,3-diisopropyl-4,5-dimethylimidazol-2-ylidene (1) is reacted with diphenyl disulfide, methyl phenyl disulfide, and bis(methylsulfonyl)methane to yield target compounds 5, 6, and 7 respectively.

Soil Test Crop Response studies involving Integrated Plant Nutrition System (STCR - IPNS) were conducted on a Typic Haplustalf of Tamil Nadu, Southern India for developing fertiliser prescriptions for desired yield targets of rice- rice sequence under System of Rice Intensification (SRI). By adopting the Inductive cum Targeted yield model, variations in soil fertility with reference to soil available nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P) and potassium (K) were established and test crop experiment was conducted with rice-rice sequence. The findings pertaining to rabi season is discussed in this paper.

The reliability of Quantitative Structure – Activity or Property Relationships for prediction of physico-chemical properties and anticancer activity of flavone and isoflavone derivatives was improved by using the quantitative relationships between structurally similar flavone and isoflavone structures (QSSRs). The targeted-compound method was developed by a training set, which contains only similar compounds structurally to target compound.

This paper presents the benzene alkylation with ethanol catalysed on the Y and ZSM-5 zeolite. The experimental results have shown that 30%H-ZSM-5/HY sample is the best for forming ethylbenzene. On this sample the reaction has been carried out by central composite orthogone design at the second level for three factors reaction temperature, flow speed and the molar ratio of ethanol/benzene. The target function for the productivity of ethylbenzene has been yielded. By checking the experimental and mathematic results we observed that current equation is suitable.

External quality assessment schemes are evaluated by method-dependent consensus values or by method independent target values, determined with reference measurement procedures. The reference measurement procedures yield values having a high trueness and precision with a defined uncertainty of measure-ment. The great advantage of the reference measurement proce-dure is that the comparability of results in the different medical laboratories is promoted and improved intending in the same ref-erence interval for an analyte in all laboratories. ...

Reliable prediction of specific transcription factor target genes is a major challenge in systems biology and functional genomics. Current sequence-based methods yield many false predictions, due to the short and degenerated DNA-binding motifs.

Peptides function as chemical signals between cells of multicellular organ-isms via specific receptors on target cells. Many hormones, neuromodula-tors and growth factors are peptides. Peptide hormones and other biologically active peptides are synthesized as higher molecular weight pre-cursor proteins (pro-hormones), which must undergo post-translational modification to yield the bioactive peptide(s).

Báo cáo khoa học: A novel b-N-acetyl-D-hexosaminidase from the insect ´ Ostrinia furnacalis (Guenee)
Exploiting specific targets is of specific interest in developing eco-friendly pesticides. We isolated, purified and characterized a novel b-N-acetyl-d-hexosaminidase (OfHex1) from the fifth instar larva integument of the Asian corn borer,Ostrinia furnacalis(Guene´e). OfHex1 was purified 1468-fold to homogeneity with an activity yield of 20% by four column chroma-tography steps.
