The taxonomic treatment with a description is provided, along with photographs, distribution, ecology, a conservation assessment, and morphological comparison with its alliance species. It is similar to Zingiber orbiculatum and Zingiber mioga in having whitish flowers and bright yellow anthers but differs in many aspects of vegetative and reproductive characteristics. Moreover, a taxonomic key for all species of sect. Cryptanthium in Vietnam is included.

Aristolochia austroyunnanensis S. M. Hwang (family Aristolochiaceae), a species endemic to southern China, is newly recorded for the flora of Vietnam. This newly recorded species belong to subgenus Siphisia and is most similar to Aristolochia petelotii O. C. Schmidt and Aristolochia fangchi C. Wu ex L. D. Chow & S. M. Hwang. Detailed morphological descriptions and color illustrations, together with information on distribution, habitat, phenology, and taxonomic notes are given. An identification key to all known Siphisia species in Vietnam is also provided.

The present work provides a taxonomic key to the genera of Polygonaceae found in Vietnam. It also reports the first occurrence of Persicaria runcinata in Lai Chau province, extending its known distribution within the country. Detailed photographic illustrations of the specimens studied accompany the findings. This extended distribution of P. runcinata could hold significant conservation implications, emphasizing the importance of further research and conservation efforts in the region.

New Camellia species in section Piquetia have recently been discovered. It is necessary to enumerate the number of species and update the specific characteristics of this section. Based on the study of more than 30 pieces of literature and a large number of specimens, a total of 15 species belonging to section Piquetia, including two new species, are identified.

A taxonomic study on the genus Ectopioglossa Perkins from Vietnam is presented. Two species, E. henseni Gusenleitner, 1990 and E. taiwana (Sonan, 1938), are recorded as new to the vespid fauna of Vietnam. A key to the Ectopioglossa species known from Vietnam is also provided based on external morphological characters.

Four species of the little-known bee genus Thrinchostoma Saussure, 1890 from Vietnam are presented including Thrinchostoma (Thinchostoma s. str.) tonkinense Blüthgen, 1926 and three new records: T. (T.) flaviscapus Bülthgen, 1926; T. (T.) sladeni Cockerell, 1913; and T. (T.) yunnanense Niu & Zhu, 2016. The occurrence of T. (T.) tonkinense Blüthgen, 1926 in Vietnam is confirmed. A taxonomic study on the genus Macrosemia from Vietnam in which a new species Macrosemia sapaensis sp. nov. is described. This species was collected from Lao Cai province in north Vietnam. Information on the distribution, photos of an adult, and illustrations of the male genitalia are provided for the new species. Based on the male characteristics, we provide a key to the genus Macrosemia Kato, 1925 (Hemiptera: Cicadidae) of Vietnam.

A review of the oribatid mites of the genus Papillacarus Kunst, 1959 (Oribatida: Lohhmanniidae) in Vietnam, with remarks on the taxonomic status of P. arboriseta, is presented. A new free-living genus of the mycophagous tribe Brachineurini, Loborrhizomyia gen. nov., and its type species (Loborrhizomyia phaneroectata sp. nov.) and another new species (Loborrhizomyia aphanata sp. nov.) are described from the Caiyang River Nature Reserve, Pu’er, Yunnan, China. The new genus is characterized in the tribe Brachineurini by the unique gonostylus having a ventral lobe protruding to the distal.

A new species, Comalcandona gibsoni sp. nov., was found from Comal Springs, Comal County, Texas, USA. The new species has four horn-like projections located on the antero- and posterodorsal ends of the valves and this unique character separates this species from Comalcandona tressleri. Some other distinguishing differences in chaetotaxy (e.g., position, length, and number of setae on the segments) can also be seen in the soft body parts (e.g., absence of gamma seta on mandibula, duckbill shape of clasping organ of first leg, numbers of whorls in Zenker’s organ).

Species of the genus Temelucha Förster, 1869 (Hymenoptera, Ichneumonidae, Cremastinae) in Iran are taxonomically overviewed. Sampling was done using Malaise traps and sweeping nets in natural grasslands, forests, orchards and field crops during 2013–2017. Fifteen species are recorded and reviewed, among them 5 species Temelucha albipennis (Zetterstedt, 1838), T. flavia Vas, 2016, T.ophthalmica (Holmgren, 1860), T. pseudocaudata Kolarov, 1982, and T. variipes (Szépligeti, 1899) are new records for the fauna of Iran. T. convergence Zardouei & Rakhshani sp. nov. is described and illustrated.
