We report here the improvement of a procedure to obtain global models, able to describe the retention behaviour of several sample components simultaneously. The reported global models include parameters that account for the general effects of column and solvent on retention and are common for all components, whereas other parameters are specific of each sample component.

The metal complexes are retained on resin at pH 6.0 and eluted with 1.0 mol L −1 HCl in acetone in both methods. After the optimum conditions were determined, the methods were applied to seawater, stream water, rice, lentil, tea, tobacco, bulgur, chickpea, wheat, red pepper, black pepper, peppermint, and dried eggplant samples in order to determine the levels of copper and cadmium.

In this study, sweetened black and green tea were utilized as substrate for kombucha fermentation. Linden, lemon balm, sage, echinacea, mint, and cinnamon infusions were added to kombucha to design a novel beverage with improved functional and organoleptic characteristics. After fermentation, the antioxidant capacity (AC) of the kombucha increased by 13.96% 2,2-diphenyl-1- picryl-hydrazyl-hydrate (DPPH), 48.90% ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRAP), and 55.54% cupric reducing AC (CUPRAC).

The binding constant and possible stoichiometric ratio (1:1) values were determined by Benesi-Hildebrand and Job’s plot systems, respectively. The mechanism of the probe MCPC with Cu2+ was further confirmed by ESI-MS and FT-IR analyses, as well as supported by theoretical calculations. Furthermore, the probe MCPC was successfully employed for the practical applications to sense Cu2+ in different herbal and black tea samples. The proposed sensing method was also verified by ICP-OES method.

Scalable, highly stable supercapacitor electrodes were developed from the mixture of a tea factory waste based activated carbon (AC) and a low-cost electrochemical exfoliated graphene (EEG). The hybrid electrodes showed notably enhanced stability at high current densities. The AC sample was prepared by chemical method and exposed to a further heat treatment to enhance electrochemical performance. Graphene used in the preparation of hybrid electrodes was obtained by direct electrochemical exfoliation of graphite in an aqueous solution.

Aim of the thesis: Development of a new method for determining concentration of the radionuclides in enviromental samples by mean of gamma spectroscopy. Establishing a data set of the soil-plant transfer factor (TF) of radionuclides 238U, 232Th and 40K for some vegetables in Truong Sa island and that of 238U, 232Th, 40K and 137Cs for tea tree from Luong My farm, Hoa Binh province, Vietnam and evaluate the influence of natural radionuclide concentration to the soil-plant transfer process of artificial radionuclide 137Cs.

The Azotobacter were isolated by serial dilution method from each sample in specific Azotobacter agar (Mannitol) and incubated at 28±2 °C for 48 hour than kept in refrigerator. The best strains of Azotobacter were evaluated by in-vitro and in-vivo screening. The highest population and nitrogen fixation ability was recorded in rhizosphere soil of Mathura tea garden designated as UBAZ-5 (7.3x109 ).
