  • The growth of waterborne pathogens and the discharge of partially treated or non-treated chemical waste has become a severe environmental and health risk. Conventional wastewater treatment methods have become less effective, and most current techniques require multiple stages for the disinfection of antimicrobial-resistant (AMR) pathogens and the combined removal of toxic, non-biodegradable, or emerging priority pollutants from wastewater.

  • n developing countries, industrialization is the main cause of water pollution because of the various industries which generate wastewater that is needed to be discharged. The availability of fresh clean water is becoming increasingly limited in many areas of the world resulting in scarcity of potable water in many regions around the globe. The membranes have emerged as an efficient compact technology for municipal and industrial wastewater treatment.

  • Aquatic pollution occurs due to the discharge of harmful substances, chemicals or microorganisms into water bodies i.e. a stream, river, lake, ocean, aquifer, or other body of water resulting in contamination & degradation of water quality and rendering it unsuitable for human use or the environment. Many advanced water treatment techniques are followed before discharging this polluted water into the surrounding environment. However some limitations is there. In this context, Biofilms have become the important part of biological treatment of municipal waste water.

  • Today water discharges from industries are the major causes of water pollution resulting in destabilized ecosystems. Hence, it is necessary to monitor the levels of these pollutants as well as develop technologies for the treatment of waste water. Hence, the present study was attempted to analyse the commonly occurring heavy metals in water and organisms in two stations, Musiri and Mukkombu of the River Cauvery.

  • Hydrodynamic cavitation is a technology for the conservation of soil and water and waste water treatment due to its simple reactor design and capacity in large‐ scale operation. When fluid’s local pressure reaches a level lower than the saturation vapour’s pressure at environment temperature, cavitation bubbles begin to grow and together with fluid flow are driven to the points with high pressure where they are quickly collapsed.

  • Bagasse is a cheap material and the collection of bagasse is easy from sugarcane shops. This survey used cane bagasse as a substrate for aerobic biological modeling to treat aquatic waste water, bringing about economic, technical and environmental benefits. This study was conducted at three different loads: 1.2kg COD/m3 .day; 2.4kg COD/m3 .day; 3.6kg COD/m3 .day. The results showed that COD removal efficiency was 99.15%, the optimum load of the research model was 2.4kg COD/m 3 .day for the SS removal efficiency reaching 92.49%.

  • What have been the impacts of the GGDP-generated maize technologies? In the absence of reliable baseline data, it was not possible to calculate quantitative measures of project impact. Based on farmers’ qualitative judgments, however, it is clear that adoption of the GGDP-generated technologies has been associated with significant farm-level productivity gains (measured in terms of maize yields) and noticeable increases in the income earned from sales of maize. Impacts on the nutritional status of rural households, however, appear to have been less pronounced.

  • The technology-based Effluent Guidelines could not guarantee achievement of adequate water quality in all receiving waters, so permit writers were required to set even more stringent “water-quality-limited” standards for plants discharging into such water bodies. These standards necessarily depended on the current conditions of the receiving water body and its capacity to absorb waste. Also, the effluent limitations for any firm affected and were affected by the effluent limitations on all other firms. The front-line administration of this program—i.e.
