It is common for older people to become grandparents in later life. However, the impacts of grandparenting on their health and well-being remain ambiguous, especially in Chinese society, where the family is in the core of culture. The current study explored the relationship between grandparenthood and Chinese older people’s health and psychological well-being in Hong Kong.

Research is often undertaken using patient-reported outcomes from questionnaires. Achieving a high response rate demands expensive and time-consuming methods like telephone reminders. However, it is unknown whether telephone reminders change outcome estimates or only affect the response rate in research of populations with low back pain (LBP).

Canadian provincial governments have made significant investments in nurse advice telephone lines and Internet resources as non-traditional options to reduce emergency department visits and improve access to health care for the population. However, little is known about the characteristics of users of these services, and who chooses to use them first, before accessing other sources of health advice. Additionally, individuals with lower levels of education tend to be late adopters of technology and have inconsistent utilization of health services.

Our typical engagement lasts at least six months, but more typically spans 12 – 15 months with additional quarterly follow-up thereafter.

During this process, a survey for leadership in project management is designed and sent via e-mail; telephone interviews are also conducted. After the response period ended, the data and statistics are collected, reduced and analyzed. For some of the surveys, several respondents did not reply or answered less than half of the questions. Those responses are reduced from the data, in order to maintain the authenticity and accuracy of the survey data. Then key leadership skills are introduced and generalized in a list for reference purposes. ...

A comprehensive survey of the United States, at the end of the Civil War, would reveal a state of society which bears little resemblance to that of today. Almost all those commonplace fundamentals of existence, the things that contribute to our bodily comfort while they vex us with economic and political problems, had not yet made their appearance.

The survey methodology is that used for the Gallup World Poll. Surveys are conducted face to face in economies where telephone coverage represents less than 80 percent of the population. In most economies the fieldwork is completed in two to four weeks. In economies where face-to-face surveys are conducted, the first stage of sampling is the identification of primary sampling units, consisting of clusters of households. The pri- mary sampling units are stratified by population size, geography, or both, and clustering is achieved through one or more stages of sampling.

More recently, the Washington Department of Insurance sponsored a consumer survey that matched demographic information obtained from telephone interviews with credit scores (Pavelchek and Brown, 2003). While the study found a statistically significant association between credit scores and income, the findings regarding the racial impact of scoring were inconclusive, primarily because of the small number of minorities included in the survey sampled from the relatively homogonous population of the state of Washington .

Data set weights are used to adjust for sampling and response rates, and to provide estimates of Wisconsin’s total household population using the sample data. A new procedure for developing data set weights was used with the 2008 Family Health Survey. The 2008 FHS sample included only landline telephone numbers, but ever-increasing numbers of people are using only cell phones, with no landline telephone service. Researchers are learning that the characteristics of cell-phone-only users differ from characteristics of people who use landline telephones.
