The present study was undertaken to evaluate the influence of laboratory made ethylene absorbents particularly Silica gel-permanganate and Celite-permanganate mixture on postharvest quality of bitter gourd cv. Meghna-2 under ambient storage conditions (temperature 27.2-31.4°C and 69-72% RH) packed in 50µ polypropylene bags (20cm x 17cm size).

Cut roses were pulsed with the best pulsing combination of Al2(SO4)3 400 ppm in combination with Sucrose 4% (arrived during the previous pulsing experiments) at room temperature (22±2 oC) for 24 hours and then packed with different packaging material and stored at 2-4 oC for 5 days and then evaluated for their vase life. Among the different packaging material tried polythene sheet in combination with corrugated fibre board boxes (PS+CFB) followed by tissue paper in combination with corrugated fibre board boxes (TP+CFB) increased vase life (10.2 and 10.

The experiment was carried out in the department of horticulture NEHU Tura Campus, Meghalaya during the year 2013-2015 by keeping in view of 11 treatments on the effect of postharvest quality of cut Gerbera flower for maintaining the vase life at room temperature. The cut flowers were harvested in the morning and were kept in vase solutions containing gibberrelic acid and benzyl adenine (with distilled water). Sucrose at 4% was added to all treatments as a base solution.

The main aim of present study was to evaluate the efficacy of different composite edible coatings comprising olive oil, Aloe vera and sodium alginate as base coatings with antioxidant (ascorbic acid 0.1%) and calcium gluconate (0.5%) as texture enhancer on the postharvest quality attributes of guava cv. „Sardar‟ during winter seasons of 2017 and 2018. After treatment, fruits were kept at ambient temperature of 27-29°C till 15 days and analyzed for various physico-biochemical parameters while the uncoated fruits serve as control.
