The primary objective for the book is as an environmental management textbook for tertiary students – in post graduate level environmental management courses though it should not be restricted to courses within environmental schools but should include other courses which I believe have a greater need for a well-rounded environmental management education: business, finance and engineering.

Pseudomonas aeruginosa is a classical opportunistic pathogen with innate resistance to many antibiotics and disinfectants. Clinical samples which yielded Pseudomonas aeruginosa were included in this study. Antibiogram of the isolates was determined by Kirby-Bauer disc diffusion method. Candida species are a common cause of neonatal nosocomial bloodstream infections in infants and are a leading cause of infectious-related mortality in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). The objective of this study was to determine the predominant organisms, antifungal sensitivity patterns and clinical risk factors in neonatal fungal blood stream infection cases (BSI) admitted to our hospital. This is a retrospective study of all neonatal fungal BSI cases between May 2018 and October 2018. Fungal sepsis was found in 25/210 (11.9%) of cases.

Rwanda’s population is predominantly rural, with more than four in five Rwandans living in rural areas. Fifteen percent of women and 17 percent of men live in urban areas. Overall, 68 percent of women and 69 percent of men have attended some primary school without having gone on to post-primary/vocational or secondary school. Only 21 percent of men have attended post-primary/vocational, secondary, or tertiary education and about 16 percent of women have done so. School experience in Rwanda is not universal; 16 percent of women and 10 percent of men have never attended school.
