Evaluation of the English textbook solutions pre-intermediate: Students’ perspective

This study, therefore, investigated students’ evaluation of Solutions Pre-intermediate, one textbook belonging to the Solutions series. 256 non-English majors at a public university in Vietnam participated in the study and completed an online 29-item questionnaire which examined their perceptions of the organization, activities, linguistic aspects, and subject and content and their overall evaluation of the textbook.

An evaluation of ESP textbook “Aviation English for ICAO compliance” for air traffic controller students at Vietnam Aviation Academy

This research aims to evaluate an ESP textbook entitled Aviation English for ICAO Compliance published by Macmillan 2008. It is designed based on the ESP approach for ATC students who will become air traffic controllers in the future. The textbook takes learners to level 4 of the ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization), which is approximately A2-B1 level and minimum language standard for all pilots and air traffic controllers from March 2008.

MA thesis in English language: An evaluation of the textbook tiếng Anh 6 (10 year program): A case study at Quynh Mai secondary school

The study aims at evaluating the textbook Tiếng Anh 6 (10-year program) to explore if it really meets the defined aims of the course and if it is appropriate to the students’ level of English and their background knowledge. I also hope that the findings of the thesis will partly help to decide whether to modify any contents or the structure of the book to improve the quality and the effectiveness of the material.

Teachers’ Evaluation of primary English textbooks for Vietnamese schools developed under the National foreign language 2020 project: A preliminary internal survey

The aim of this survey research is to get evaluative feedback from the teachers who are using the primary English textbooks developed under the National Foreign Language 2020 Project to find out their strengths and weaknesses so that further corrections and revisions will be made to perfect the materials before putting them into use on a large scale.

Changing pedagogies: Vietnamese case from international perspectives

From exploring learning theories, this article analyses and evaluates the orientation presented in Vietnamese MOET (Ministry of Education and Training) guideline documents for the nearest high school curricula and textbooks reforming. From that, the article presents some conclusions about the missing aspects which can affect the way teachers interpret and use the new approach in their teaching practice.
