The International Accounting Standards require entities to report useful and accurate information, enabling shareholders and others to make informed investment decisions. This research investigates the array of factors that influence the investment decision-making of shareholders in the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET). The research employed a mixed research methodology that combines quantitative and a qualitative analysis to obtain empirical data on the factors that impact on Thai shareholders investing in large asset-based industries in the SET.

This research examined how the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) can improve upon the common economic community through the revision of policies related to labor and migration. The literature review suggested that economic prosperity and growth are significantly related to national openness to naturalization and foreign investment.

Thailand’s Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in Vietnam

The similarities between Thailand and Vietnam can be seen in the countries’ geographical features, society, cultural proximity, economy, and the bond between the citizens of the two countries. The diplomatic relationship between Thailand and Vietnam was established in 1976 and continues to get stronger. In 1986, Vietnam implemented the “Doi Moi” policy to reform the socialist market economy which paved the way to economic relationship, the legislation on investments, and exposure to foreign investments.

Outward foreign direct investment from Vietnam enterprises into the People's Democratic Republic of Laos in the context of international integration

The object of the dissertation is the direct investment projects of Vietnam enterprises into Laos. Besides, in order to better assess the current status of the projects as well as investment opportunities into Laos in the future, the thesis will study the investment environment in Laos, the main competitors (Thailand and China), policy related to OFDI activities of Vietnam and Laos, the documents signed between enterprises as well as the two governments.
