  • The present research paper describes the sacred plants found in the vicinity of five major temples of Bhopal, India. In addition, the ethnomedicinal and ecological values of these plants were also reported. The information was obtained from priests and knowledgeable local people about the sacred value of plants associated with religious rituals. A total of 13 sacred plants species belonging to 10 families were identified during the survey. The study concludes that propagation of sacred plants contributes to the conservation of floral diversity.

The rotary zero-till-slit tillage and seeding machine were developed for zero-till seeding in straw fields after grain combine harvester's operation.   • Photovoltaic based electricity generation saves a major portion of renewable energy generation in India. Ever increasing fuel cost and doubtful availability of electricity hampers the irrigated crop production. Use of solar pump is an alternate to electric or diesel pumps for irrigation of crops. This paper presents the utilization of solar power for operating micro irrigation systems for irrigating field crops. An open well submersible pump of 5hp capacity was operated by 4960Wp solar panel installed at ICAR-CIAE, Bhopal for irrigation.

  • A laboratory study was conducted to assess the efficacy of the different microbes to solubilise nano rock phosphate. Nano rock phosphate was prepared using a 24 blade FRITSCH Rotar Mill (Model-Pulverizette-14) with a 80µm sieve, followed by high energy ball milling. The nano rock phosphate particles were characterized by Transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (FESEM), Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS) and X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) analysis regarding their size, shape, morphology, structure and composition.
