In the study "Yield and oil composition of peppermint cultivars grown in the Isparta climate of Turkey", Citaro, Tokat CL-8, and Chocolate varieties had high menthol contents and were within the same chemical group. Varieties reacted differently to years and harvesting seasons, including summer and autumn. The menthol content of Citaro and Tokat CL-8 cultivars was higher in the fall harvest compared to the summer harvest.

The fruits of Arbutus unedo L., a shrub that grows spontaneously in countries around the Mediterranean basin, are traditionally harvested and used for the production of a distilled spirit. The main objective of this work is to compare the chemical profile of distillates obtained from fermented A. unedo fruits. Fifteen distinct distillates were obtained from ten clones and five seedlings, and they were evaluated, based on their physicochemical characteristics.

The basidiomycete Phanerochaete carnosa is a white-rot species that has been mainly isolated from coniferous softwood. Given the particular recalcitrance of softwoods to bioconversion, we conducted a comparative transcriptomic analysis of P. carnosa following growth on wood powder from one softwood (spruce; Picea glauca) and one hardwood (aspen; Populus tremuloides). P. carnosa was grown on each substrate for over one month, and mycelia were harvested at five time points for total RNA sequencing. Residual wood powder was also analyzed for total sugar and lignin composition.

Longan (Dimocarpus longan Lour) is the delicate fruit of immense value. Its production in Asia pacific regions countries including China, Thailand, Vietnam, Laos and India has shown a rise in last few years. Longan has a widespread postharvest use but, the major hindrance in its PHM (Postharvest management) is its poor shelf life. Its proper postharvest management starts from judging horticultural maturity and retaining all its sensory characteristics which are important for its consumer appeal. There are several problems which need to be taken care during its PHM.
