This paper investigates the direct use values of melaleuca forests at U Minh Ha National Park. The market price method (MPM) was utilised to estimate the economic value. A semi-structured questionnaire comprising multiple-choice and open-ended questions was administered to 360 families in 2022 to collect data on the various forest products available locally, the quantity of these products collected, as well as their corresponding prices and costs.

The research analyzes soil-based and soilless (hydroponics and aeroponics) lettuce farming systems to highlight the economic efficiency and limitations of each practice.
