The free trade

In this study, the researcher focuses on exploring the impact of the European Union–Vietnam Free Trade Agreement and the European Green Deal on Vietnamese exports. This article used qualitative methods, including collecting and analyzing secondary data. The objective is to understand the requirements and standards set by the European market and the advantages that the free trade agreement impacts on the quality and competitiveness of Vietnamese export products.

This study focuses on applying SMART model to simulate export performance, in particular trade effects, of Vietnamese fishery products to the Netherlands after the EVFTA takes effect and all tariff barriers are eliminated. Based on the analysis, the paper identifies opportunities and challenges for Vietnam’s fisheries industry and proposes solutions to promote the exportation of fishery products to the Netherlands.

This study examines the change in FDI inflows to Vietnam following both traditional and new generation of FTAs. The regression results from the gravity model show that JVEPA has the greatest effect on FDI inflows to Vietnam, followed by AKFTA, and UKVFTA. This suggests that Vietnam should promote more both bilateral and modern free trade agreements.

Vietnamese government is expected to support firms with understanding about the EVFTA, market information on quality standards, labour and environmental requirements, building capacity to improve quality and value of exporting products including rice exports.

The important year of 1995 marked Vietnam’s first integration as a member of ASEAN. By 2016, Vietnam had negotiated, signed, and implemented sixteen free trade agreements. They include both multilateral and bilateral free trade agreements such as the China-ASEAN, VietnamChile, and Vietnam-Japan agreements.
