Crossed testicular ectopia or transverse testicular ectopia is an extremely rare urogenital anomaly. Post-spinal anesthesia hypotension during cesarean delivery is caused by decreased systemic vascular resistance due to the blockage of the autonomic nerves, which is further worsened by inferior vena cava (IVC) compression by the gravid uterus. This study aimed to assess whether peak velocity and diameter of the IVC below the xiphoid or right common femoral vein (RCFV) in the inguinal region, as measured on ultrasound, could reflect the degree of IVC compression and further identify parturients at risk of post-spinal hypotension.

The present study was conducted to know the diversity of tick species infesting domestic and crossbred cattle in 4 districts of Assam along the Indo-Bhutan border for one year. A total of 533 cattle were examined, 266 (49.90%) were found infested either with Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) microplus (23.45%) or Haemaphysalis bispinosa (15.75%) or with both the ticks (10.69%). Crossbred cattle were found having higher tick prevalence (53.50%) compared to the indigenous (49.34%) which was statistically non-significant. There has been a case report of exaggerated pigmented granulomatous reaction to the artificial joint implant in a 72-year-old man who had undergone bilateral total hip arthroplasty, in whom, aspirate from the inguinal region was misinterpreted as metastatic melanoma from an unknown primary. Microscopically, the smears of this patient showed both intracellular and extracellular black pigment with obscured cytomorphology; although, appreciable cells were reported to be pleomorphic with prominent nucleoli. The patient had no evidence of primary cutaneous melanoma.
