The interphase region

In this research, a prototypical polymer system reinforced by a Silica nanoscopic inclusion is considered. Molecular Dynamics (MD) simulations are performed and used to characterize the conformational properties of the polymer chains in the neighborhood of the inclusion. It is shown that these chains are characterized by a specific tangential orientation which, together with the density profile and variations in chain mobility, allows for the geometric definition of the interphase region.

Ebook "Shallow lakes in a changing world: Proceedings of the 5th International Symposium on Shallow Lakes, held at Dalfsen, The Netherlands, 5–9 June 2005" have given us deeper insights into the functioning of food-webs in shallow waters, nutrient dynamics in open water, and in the complexities of interactions in littoral and pelagic regions, and of the sedimentwater interphase. We are now starting to implement the knowledge gained in order to rehabilitate some lakes, if not restore them.

Chromatin loops form a basic unit of interphase nuclear organization, with chromatin loop anchor points providing contacts between regulatory regions and promoters. However, the mutational landscape at these anchor points remains under-studied. Here, we describe the unusual patterns of somatic mutations and germline variation associated with loop anchor points and explore the underlying features influencing these patterns.

Chromocenters are defined as a punctate condensed blocks of chromatin in the interphase cell nuclei of certain cell types with unknown biological significance. In recent years a progress in revealing of chromocenters protein content has been made although the details of DNA content within constitutive heterochromatin still remain unclear. It is known that these regions are enriched in tandem repeats (TR) and transposable elements. Quick improvement of genome sequencing does not help to assemble the heterochromatic regions due to lack of appropriate bioinformatics techniques.
