Semantic Web technologies enable the integration of heterogeneous data using expli- cit semantics, the expression of rich and well-defined models for data aggregation, and the application of logic to gain new knowledge from the raw data [12]. Semantic tech- nologies can be used to encode metadata such as provenance, i.e. the original source where the data came from and how it was generated [13][14].
