The rate of antibiotic resistance in Helicobacter pylori (H.pylori) is increasing in Vietnam in recent years and has become a main challenge in the management of H. pylori infection. To determine the antibiogram of H.pylori strains isolated from a population in Central Vietnam to clarithromycin, levofloxacin by E-test and disk diffusion, compare two diffusion methods.

In this thesis, a numerical model with detailed reaction mechanism which is tailored for studying the behaviour of combustion of natural gas has been introduced and validated with available experimental data. The numerical model attempts to comprehensively simulate the physical conditions (temperature and pressure), equivalent ratio, and fuel dilution and strain rate effect in the laminar flames.

The results of temperature, strain and stress distribution at various strain rates were reported. The strain/stress distribution exhibited a heterogeneous distribution, indicating inhomogeneity during hot forging.

The flow stress assessment of austenitic-martensitic functionally graded steel under hot compression
In this research, the flow stress of dual layer austenitic-martensitic functionally graded steels (FGSs) under hot deformation loading has been modelled considering the Zener-Hollomon constitutive equations as a function of temperature and strain rate.

The addition of glucose toSaccharomyces cerevisiaecells causes reprogramming of gene expression. Glucose is sensed bymembrane receptorsaswell as (so far elusive) intracellular sensing mechanisms. The availability of four yeast strains that display different hexose uptake capacities allowed us to study glucose-induced effects at different glycolytic rates. Rapid glucose responses were observed in all strains able to take up glucose, consistent with intracellular sensing.

ThepyrGgene fromLactococcus lactisencodes CTP syn-thase (EC 6.4.3.2), an enzyme converting UTP to CTP. A series of strains were constructed with different levels of pyrGexpression by insertion of synthetic constitutive pro-moters with different strengths in front ofpyrG.These strains expressed pyrGlevels in a range from 3 to 665% relative to thewild-type expression level.Decreasing the level of CTP synthase to 43% had no effect on the growth rate, showing that the capacity of CTP synthase in the cell is in excess in a wild-type strain. ...

CCR5 is a G protein-coupled receptor that binds several natural chemokines but it is alsoa coreceptor for the entryof M tropic strains of HIV-1 into cells. Levels of CCR5 on the cell surface are important for the rate ofHIV-1 infectionand are determined by a number of factors including the rates of CCR5 internalization and recycling. Here we investigated the involvement of the actin cytoskeleton in the control of ligand-induced internalization and recycling of CCR5.
