The water environment

Public parks in cities, with most of their area being green areas, play an important role not only in balancing the living environment, but also in contributing to the minimisation of flood risks through absorption and the storing of water. This creates the motivation to restore, maintain and develop green areas in inner cities, especially in centralised areas, which have a high level of urbanisation potentially associated with a shortage of such green-lands.

This study presents some research results on the relationship between the geological environment of the surface layer and the level of modern tectonic activity in the sea waters of the Hoi An - Cua Dai area based on the interpretation of high-resolution shallow seismic data combined with the surface sediments’ grainsize analysis and other available data sources. The results show that the surface geological environment in the coastal waters North of the Thu Bon river fault is influenced by modern tectonic activities, believed to be a part of causing geological catastrophic events.

In this work, TiO2-doped carbon aerogel (TiO2/CA) was synthesized from sugarcane bagasse hydrothermal, freezedrying, and carbonization methods. The effects of the calcination temperatures of 400, 500, 600, 700, and 800 oC were also evaluated. The obtained TiO2/CA exhibits an ultralow density (0.021-0.032 g/cm3 ) and porosity of more than 97 %. The asprepared TiO2/CA was applied in photodegradation of methylene blue (MB) with the effects of dose sample and pH were also investigated.
