The present study was carried out to investigate the haemato-biochemical changes and therapeutic management of canine babesiosis. Five male and 2 female dogs between 3-4 years old were presented to TVCC, Veterinary College, Durg and Private Clinic, Bhillai (Chhattisgarh) with a history of anorexia, tick infestation, lethargy, weakness and discolouration of the urine (haemoglobinuria). Blood samples were collected from the study group animals for the estimation of haemao-biochemical parameters.

CPV infection is considered as the most pathogenic and contagious infection of dogs causing haemorrhagic gastroenteritis. Molecular detection using PCR is used widely for detection and confirmation of CPV infection in dogs. Present study was conducted to detect CPV in the faeces of dogs showing clinical signs of hemorrhagic gastroenteritis. A total of 52 dogs suffering from gastroenteritis were screened for the study, out of which 31 dogs were found to be affected with CPV infection.

Canine parvoviral enteritis (CPVE) is a serious disease of dogs of less than six months age group. This disease is caused by canine parvovirus 2, 2a, 2b and 2c subtypes of CPV.Diagnosis and therapeutic management of CPVE affected dogs are usually based on clinical diagnosis. This study aims the applicability of haemagglutination test in diagnosis of CPV infection. A total of 110 faecal swabs of dogs suspected for CPVE were collected and subjected to haemagglutination (HA) test using porcine red blood cells. Thirty two samples (29.0 %) were positive to CPV infection by HA.

Clinical studies on ear infections, microbiological evaluation and therapeutic management in canines
A total 116 dogs were presented with various affections of the ear, among them 67 (57.76%) cases were having the symptoms of otitis. The higher incidence was found in the age groups of 1-5 year (44.77%, n=30) followed other age groups. The breed wise incidence of was found to be highest in the Labrador (35.82%, n=24) followed by other breeds. 35 cases had bilateral (52.23%), 21 dogs had only right side ear (31.34%) involvement and 11 dogs had left side ear (16.41%) infection. Out of total 67 cases 58.20 percent (n=39) cases were male and 41.80% percent (n=28) cases were female.
