The derived temperature dependences of the peak intensities, separations and half-widths of the separate spectral peaks in the A-band phonon progressions indicate the different trends for vibration-free zero-phonon electronic transition and vibration-related lower-energy electronic transitions to high vibrational levels of the ground electronic state – lower thermal damping and more softened phonon for the zero-phonon transition, also implying the extended defect origin of the A-band photoluminescence.

This energy difference can be an indicator of a compound’s excitability; the more readily a compound can be excited, the narrower the energy gap. The energy gap might be significantly affected by the influence of thermal energy. The non-linear optical (NLO) efficiency of methyl orange-doped (MOD) TBC crystals was contrasted with that of the pure form, and the doped version exhibited greater efficiency, particularly for high-frequency applications.

In this study, the AERMOD modeling system was used to evaluate the impact of the stack emission by the thermal power plants on the ambient atmospheric environment. The annual average concentrations of these pollutants indicate that the high terrain areas at the south and northwest of Cam Pha City, which block the flow of the stack emission, are the most affected regions by exhausted gases from industrial stacks.

The study presents thermal structure and active-passive tectonic parts of the Eastern Mediterranean Region. Curie point depth, heat flow map, Moho depth and sediment thickness are used for interpretation. The levelled magnetic data that obtained from the World Digital Magnetic Anomaly Map (WDMAM) is used. The magnetic anomaly is divided into 39 zones for Curie point depth estimation. The Curie point depth values are calculated into Fourier domain. Then heat flow map is generated. The estimated Curie point depth values are ranging from 4.5 km to 25 km.

Scanning electron micrographs revealed that the denser microstructure was seen in kashk containing quinoa flour. This could suggest that quinoa flour could be used to improve the microstructure of the kashk. Moreover, adding quinoa flour to kashk could compensate lysine depleted in the kashk thermal process. These results indicated that kashk supplementation with quinoa flour could be suggested as an effective means to improve the functional properties of kashk.

Two novel N∧O-type Schiff base ligands and the corresponding Co(II) complexes are reported. Thermogravimetric analysis indicated that the complexes are potential molecular precursors for the fabrication of cobalt and cobalt-containing nanomaterials. The significant difference in the thermal decomposition profiles is recognized as an influence of structural differences on the complexes. Thus, the complexes were thermally decomposed using the melt and hot injection methods to examine the properties of the obtained cobalt and cobalt sulfide nanoparticles, respectively.

Choline derivatives were covalently immobilized on the surface of γ-aminated silica. The obtained immobilized choline derivative was then successfully used for a transesterification reaction to produce glycerophosphocholine (GPC). Fourier transform infrared analysis and thermogravimetric analysis/differential thermal gravimetry indicated that the surface of the γ-aminated silica was covered by choline derivatives and the highest immobilization amount reached 1.1 mmol/g under optimal conditions. More importantly, the highest yield of GPC reached 97.9% during transesterification.

The addition of the sac ligand resulted in the replacement of 1 and 2 chlorido ligands in [PtCl2(COD)] to yield 1 and 2, respectively. The structures of the complexes were determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction and showed a distorted square planar coordination geometry around platinum(II). COD acted as a π -donor ligand, while sac was N -coordinated in both complexes. The TG/DTA data indicated that both complexes were thermally stable up to 220°C in air and their thermal decompositions yielded Pt as a final product.

In this study, effects of graphene oxide (GO) and ZnO nanoparticles on the properties of acrylic polymer (R4152) coating were investigated. SEM images indicated that ZnO nanoparticles distributed uniformly on GO sheets. Hence, GO/ZnO could be dispersed homogenously in the acrylic polymer matrix while ZnO nanoparticles were agglomerated in acrylic polymer matrix in the absence of GO.

Pacific salmon (Oncorhynchus spp.) serve as good biological indicators of the breadth of climate warming effects on fish because their anadromous life cycle exposes them to environmental challenges in both marine and freshwater environments. Our study sought to mine the extensive functional genomic studies in fishes to identify robust thermally-responsive biomarkers that could monitor molecular physiological signatures of chronic thermal stress in fish using non-lethal sampling of gill tissue.

The crystallization kinetics of an Al80Fe20 amorphous powder alloy were investigated by thermal analysis. Crystallization of amorphous Al80Fe20 during continuous heating undergoes four stages. The first-stage crystallization leads to the formation of fcc-Al from amorphous matrix. The next stages are the decomposition of the residual amorphous phase into several intermetallic compounds. The activation energies of the alloy were calculated from differential scanning calorimetry data using the Kissinger, Ozawa and Augis–Bennett models.
