In this paper, polyvinyl butyral (PVB) composite coating was prepared with graphene oxide (GO) to improve mechanical properties, corrosion protection, and thermal oxidation stability. Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (FESEM),... were used to examine the results.

This study investigated the effect of graphene content on intumescent coating properties. Intumescent coatings contained Plextol R4152 as a binder, APP-PER-MEL as a flame retardant additive system, TiO2, Al(OH)3 as fillers, and other additive. The fire resistance test and furnace test were conducted. TGA, DSC, and SEM were used to assess the coating and char layers. The water resistance and mechanical properties of the coatings were examined.

A biocompatible nanocarrier system was prepared in this research through the reaction of calcium alginate (CA) with chitosan (CS). The structure of developed nanocarriers (CS-CA) was characterized by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), Fourier transforms infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) atomic force microscopy (AFM), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM).

In this study, cellulose acetate (CA)/polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) and CA/PVP/Mn2+ nanofibers were produced by the electrospinning method, and these cellulose-derived membranes were used as carriers for arginase immobilization for the first time. The structural and morphological analysis of these cellulose-derived nanofibers were determined by attenuated total reflection-Fourier to transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM).

In this study, a systematic structure examination of PbTiO3 and cobalt doped PbTiO3 powder ceramics was carried out. We characterize the trunk cuticle of velvet worms of the Peripatoides novaezealandiae-group (Onychophora) using SEM, TEM, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). TEM and SEM revealed a relatively uniform organization of the delicate cuticle that is covered by numerous bristled and nonbristled papillae with ribbed scales arranged in transverse rows. The cuticle consists of a very thin multilayered epicuticle of varying appearance followed by the largely fibrous procuticle.

A new ligand, 2,5-bis(furan-2-ylmethylcarbamoyl)terephthalic acid (BFMTA), was synthesized using 1,2,4,5- benzenetetracarboxylic dianhydride (pyromellitic dianhydride-PMDA) with furan-2-ylmethanamine (2-furfurylamine). New coordination polymers of the ligand (BFMTA) were also prepared using transition metal ions Mn(II), Fe(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), and Zn(II) metal salts. The coordination polymers and ligand were characterized by physicochemical characteristics, magnetic susceptibilities, spectroscopic investigations, and thermogravimetry.

Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) is a powerful technique for screening boranes envisaged for chemical hydrogen storage. The demonstration is based on the use of six metal (II) chlorides (MCl2) (with M as 3d-metal or d8 - metal) as destabilizing agents of solid-state hydrazine borane (N2H4BH3). On the basis of TGA profiles combined with derivative thermogravimetric (DTG) curves, it is shown that: e.g. (1) CuCl 2 is an inefficient dopant whereas it is efficient towards ammonia borane (NH3BH3); (2) one of the best destabilization results is achieved with N2H4BH3 doped by 10 wt% CuCl2 -NiCl2.

A novel N–P-containing soybean-oil-based fire-retardant plasticizer was synthesized using soybean oil methyl ester, 9,10-dihydro-9-oxa-phosphaphenanthrene-10-oxide (DOPO), and tris(2-hydroxyethyl) isocyanurate (THEIC). The structure was verified by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectrometry and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy. The blends were characterized by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), FTIR spectrometry, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA).

In this study, the electrospinning method was used to prepare polyvinyl alcohol (PVA)/chitosan (CS) blend nanofibers from their solutions. The effect of blend ratios (PVA/CS: 1%, 3%, 5%, and 7% (w/w)), applied voltage, and flow rate on the morphological, optical, and thermal properties of electrospun nanofibers were investigated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), fluorescence and UV-Vis spectroscopies, and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), respectively.

The aim of this work was to prepare metal soaps of epoxidized sunflower oil (ESO) and use them as thermal stabilizers for polyvinyl chloride (PVC). For that purpose, commercial sunflower oil was first epoxidized and then used to prepare (Ba, Zn, Pb, and Cd) metal soap derivatives, which were characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The prepared metal soaps derivatives of ESO were used as thermal stabilizers for plasticized PVC.

Polydioxanone (PPDO) is synthesized by ring-opening polymerization of p-dioxanone, using stannous octoate as the catalyst. The polarized optical micrograph (POM) shows thes pherulite growth rate of PPDO decreases with an increase in the isothermal crystallization temperature. PPDO is compression-molded into bars, and PPDO bars are subjected to isothermal annealing at a range of temperatures (Ta = 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, and 100 °C), and correspond to three different annealing times (ta = 1h, 2h, 3h).

Two naphthalene pyrazole ligands were synthesized using KOH/DMSO and Cu catalyst and characterized with FT-IR, ESIMS, 1H, and 13C NMR spectroscopies. The crystal structures of 1-(2-methylnaphthalen-1-yl)-1H-pyrazole (MeNap-Pz) ligand have been determined with X-ray crystal structure analysis. Reaction of the ligands with Cu(NO3)2x3.5H2O gave two new complexes and characterized with magnetic susceptibility, molar conductance, FT-IR, LCMS-MS, ICP-OES, NMR, thermogravimetric analysis, and ESR spectra.

Potentially active and eco-friendly solid acid catalysts have been synthesized by loading different weight percentages (10, 15, and 50) of nickel oxide on thermally activated Turkish perlite through the deposition-precipitation method.
