  • This study investigated the effect of graphene content on intumescent coating properties. Intumescent coatings contained Plextol R4152 as a binder, APP-PER-MEL as a flame retardant additive system, TiO2, Al(OH)3 as fillers, and other additive. The fire resistance test and furnace test were conducted. TGA, DSC, and SEM were used to assess the coating and char layers. The water resistance and mechanical properties of the coatings were examined.

  • The influence of the black seed oil modified epoxy resin (EBSO)/monomer 3,4-epoxycyclohexylmethyl 3,4- epoxycyclohexane carboxylate (BCDE) weight ratio in the coatings based on the compounds and photoinitiator triarylsulfonium hexafluoroantimonate (TAS) on thermal properties of photocrosslinked coatings have been studied. The chemical structure of investigated UV-cured coatings was characterized by IR spectrometric analysis. Their thermogravimetric (TG) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) behavior were determined by TG and DSC analysis, respectively.

  • The 3D printing PMMA/ZrO2 filaments with a diameter of 1.75±0.05 mm were fabricated by using a single-screw extruder at temperatures of four heating zones of 190, 200, 210, and 210°C. Testing samples were prepared from the extruded filaments by using a fusion deposition modeling 3D printer and a Haake MiniJet piston injection molding machine. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, mechanical properties, field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), differential scanning calorimetry, and thermogravimetric analysis of the filaments were investigated.

  • The acid-treated PG was neutralized by NaOH and CO2 aeration, creating CaCO3 in situ nano-microparticles identified by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images and CaCO3 intensity by X-ray diffraction (XRD). In this study, the cement mortar test, which used treated PG from both sulfuric treatment and NaOH neutralization within CO2 aeration, has better compressive strength properties and hydration supported by SEM images, XRD results, and thermogravimetric analysis.

  • The thermal behaviour of bio-fillers and biofiller/polyolefin composites were studied with thermogravimetric analysis. The thermal analysis of the fillers showed rice husk has thermal resistance comparing to sawdust. In the air atmosphere, the main peak of rice husk degradation shifted to lower temperature values compared to that in nitrogen atmosphere.

  • We characterize the trunk cuticle of velvet worms of the Peripatoides novaezealandiae-group (Onychophora) using SEM, TEM, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). TEM and SEM revealed a relatively uniform organization of the delicate cuticle that is covered by numerous bristled and nonbristled papillae with ribbed scales arranged in transverse rows. The cuticle consists of a very thin multilayered epicuticle of varying appearance followed by the largely fibrous procuticle.
