An analytical investigation on the nonlinear response of doubly curved panels constructed from homogeneous face sheets and carbon nanotube reinforced composite (CNTRC) core and subjected to external pressure in thermal environments is presented in this paper. Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are reinforced into the core layer through uniform or functionally graded distributions.

This paper presents an analytical and a numerical thermomechanical investigation of a thick-walled cylinder made of the functionally graded materials (FGMs). The hollow cylinder is subjected to a pressure and a thermal load and the properties of this material are varying across the thickness from the inner face that is a ceramic to the outer one which is a metal.

Pultruded carbon fibre reinforced polymer (P-CFRP) is popular used in flexuralstrengthening civil engineering structures such as beams, slabs, and walls. When a fire happens, these structures and reinforced materials are simultaneously exposed to both high temperatures (potentially up to 1200°C) and mechanical loadings at the same time.

This paper investigates postbuckling behavior of thick FGM cylindrical panels resting on elastic foundations and subjected to thermal, mechanical and thermomechanical loading conditions. Material properties are assumed to be temperature dependent, and graded in the thickness direction according to a simple power law distribution in terms of the volume fractions of constituents.

This paper presents some thermomechanical characteristics of crosslinked poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) samples such as glass transition temperature (Tg), softening point (Ts), and linear thermal expansion coefficient (). Probe load of 0.05 N is most suitable to evaluate expansion, softening and contraction of the crosslinked PVC samples.

Probe load of 0.05 N is most suitable to evaluate expansion, softening and contraction of the crosslinked PVC samples. Tg , Ts and of the crosslinked PVC samples are higher than those of the uncrosslinked samples.
