In the present study, we theoretically investigated the effect of alloy Pt3Zr supported thin film ZrO2 on the electronic properties of adsorbed species consisting of single atom Au and H2 molecules. To this end, we applied a PBE+U method, including dispersion force.

TiO2 thin films were synthesized by using Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) method on different substrates, such as glass, aluminium foil , and ceramic. The samples had been characterized by microscopy analysis, SEM, and EDS. The results show that TiO2 thin films were successfully fabricated and TiO2 nanocrystals with size of 50-100 nm loaded uniformly on surface of different substrates.

Polyurethane (PU) thin films quickly degrade under the presence of oxygen, vapor, temperature, and ultraviolet irradiation. Thus, efforts have been dedicated to improving the properties of PU films. This study presents a simple synthesis route to prepare PU embedded with CeO2-SiO2 nanocomposites (CS NCs).

Numerical calculations of the quantities were performed for Fe and W thin films and found to be in good and reasonable agreement with other theoretical results and experimental data. In the present study, the influence of temperature and the size of the lattice constant of CeO2 thin film have been studied using three different interatomic potentials. We discuss temperature and thickness dependence of the lattice constant of CeO2 thin films and we compare our calculated results with those of the experimental results.

The coefficients of thermal expansion of thin metal film with face-centered cubic structure at zero pressure are investigated using the statistical moment method (SMM), including the anharmonic effects of thermal lattice vibration. The Helmholtz free energy, mean-square atomic displacement and linear thermal expansion coefficients are derived in closed analytic forms in terms of the power moments of the atomic displacement.

We report a facile process to fabricate cuprous thin films by thermal oxidation of copper substrates. Structure and phase identification were studied by X-ray diffraction measurement and Raman spectroscopy. Scanning electron microscopy was utilized to study surface morphology of the as-fabricated thin films and optical properties of the samples were investigated by diffused reflectance spectroscopy.

We report on an environmentally friendly and versatile chemical solution deposition route to K0.5Na0.5NbO3 (KNN) thin films. The excess amounts of K and Na in KNN precursor solutions was found to be strong influence on perovskite KNN single-phase thin films. It was revealed from Raman spectroscopic analysis data that a change in scattering mode was observed for the KNN thin films fabricated under various processing conditions.

In this work, we report a direct growth of the VACNTs on several substrates by using hot-filament chemical vapor deposition (hot-filament CVD) and a catalytic buffer-layer structure. The buffer layer was the aluminum (Al) thin film used together with iron (Fe) as the catalyst.

This is mainly due to the appearance of a rod like structure on neat PS which has improved the dispersion as well as provides a higher interface area that enhanced the UV-absorption efficiency of the PS matrix. This analysis is equally supported by the PALS study where the free volume was closely associated with the interfacial interaction between the filler and the PS matrix.

In this work, 200-nm-thick PZT films were successfully fabricated on Nb:STO substrates by a solution process. One obtained that PZT(111) peak started to appear on the Nb:STO substrate at a low annealing temperature of 450oC. Also, scanning electron microscopy observation shows smooth and homogeneous surface of PZT films on Nb:STO substrate with no grain boundary, which evidences for epitaxial-like growth of PZT thin films. Remnant polarization of 6 µC/cm2 and leakage current of 8×10-8 A were obtained at applied voltage of 5 V.
