Primary tumor removal by cytoreductive nephrectomy in synchronous metastatic renal cell carcinoma patients has been investigated in the context of various treatment regimens. Two randomized controlled trials investigated the role and timing of cytoreductive nephrectomy in the era of targeted therapy and demonstrated that upfront nephrectomy should no longer be performed when patients require systemic therapy.

Synchronous multiple primary esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (S-MPESCC) refers to more than one primary esophageal carcinoma detected in a solitary patient at the time of initial presentation. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the clinicopathological features, appropriate surgical approaches and long-term survival in patients with S-MPESCC by comparing with those with solitary esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (SESCC).

This paper proposes a dead-time compensation method for 2-level voltage source inverters based on harmonic current controllers. The sixth harmonic of the stator current in the synchronous reference frame originated from the dead-time effect is attenuated by using current resonant controllers. The resonant controllers are connected in parallel with the conventional PI current regulator.

In this study, we evaluated the effects of corpus luteum (CL) size of local Vietnamese cattle and determined the ideally synchronized timing for cloned bovine embryos transfer. The results showed that there was a correlation between the size of corpus luteum of recipient cows and pregnancy rates after embryos transfer, in which the qualified recipient cow should consists of at least 1.7 cm in CL size at the time of transferring.

This paper presents an approach to synchronize fault records from two-ends of a power transmission line, which is used for fault location identification. The proposed method allows synchronizing both voltage and current signals of fault records from both line ends without using the parameters of line length and line parameters.

In chaos-based digital communications, the differential chaos-shift keying (DCSK) system has been widely studied owing to its non-coherent demodulation without any synchronization. To date, BER performance of this system is investigated over various transmission channels such as noise, fading, multipath, and optical fiber. In this paper, for the first time, the BER performance of conventional DCSK system is evaluated over a land mobile satellite channel.

We present a novel approach, the Local Edge Machine, for the inference of regulatory interactions directly from time-series gene expression data. We demonstrate its performance, robustness, and scalability on in silico datasets with varying behaviors, sizes, and degrees of complexity. Moreover, we demonstrate its ability to incorporate biological prior information and make informative predictions on a well-characterized in vivo system using data from budding yeast that have been synchronized in the cell cycle.

The semiwild population of Northern Bald Ibises (Geronticus eremita) at Birecik, Turkey, are the final representatives of the Eastern population of the species in the Middle East, apart from a few captive birds in Turkish zoos. This study took place between 2012 and 2015. Breeding is highly synchronized among the colony and incubation behavior was monitored for multiple nests throughout the day. Differences were found when incubation duty period was examined according to sex. In 2013, the incubation period varied significantly between males and females (F = 71.059, P < 0.001).
