Titanium complex

A green sol-gel method was employed to synthesize TiO2 nanoparticles (NPs) using titanium metal. The synthesized TiO2 NPs underwent comprehensive characterization using techniques including X-ray diffraction (XRD), infrared spectroscopy (IR), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and UV–Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (UV-Vis DRS) to evaluate their structure, morphology, and spectral properties.

The stoichiometry of the complexes was established by their elemental analysis (chlorine and titanium estimation). The unit cell parameters calculated by using the powder XRD tool confirm the monoclinic unit system and P lattice type for all complexes. Antibacterial screening of the ligands as well as the complexes was carried out to check their biological potential. It was found that the complex with 4,4’-dimethyl-2,2’-bipyridine ligand was a more potent bactericide than complexes with other ligands.

The new heterobimetallic [Mg(II)-Ti(IV)]-µ-oxoisopropoxide was synthesized on treatment of magnesium acetate with titanium(IV) isopropoxide in refluxing decalin in 1:2 molar ratio and characterized by liberated isopropanol, elemental, spectral (IR, 1H and 13C NMR, and mass), thermal analysis, and molecular weight data.

In this study peripherally tetra-substituted metal-free, metallophthalocyanines bearing (3,4-dimethoxybenzyl) oxy groups have been synthesized and characterized. Electrochemical properties of novel phthalocyanines 4, 5, 6, and 7 were determined by cyclic and square wave voltammetry in order to define their possible applications in different electrochemical technologies. We prepared novel unsymmetrical A3B-type zinc and cobalt phthalocyanines bearing monocarboxylic acid groups on peripheral positions using statistical condensation method, especially designed to anchor on the TiO2 semiconductor surface. The novel complexes were anchored on TiO2 semiconductor to prepare effective dye sensitized photoactive composites as heterogeneous catalysts. The results indicated that modified TiO2 nanocrystals possessed only the anatase phase and MPc-TiO2 photocatalysts with loading amount of dye ca. 8.27 µmol/g TiO2 exhibit strong visible light absorption.

The study discussed the inner-sphere complexation between arsenic species and active surface metal (hydr)oxide NPs, which is attributed to the high selectivity toward arsenic species over other common ions (such as sulfate and chloride). In addition, the As(III) removal involving an oxidation process using oxidant oxides such as manganese oxide, zero valent iron and titanium oxide for enhancing adsorption performance was provided.
