The paper "The role of orographic effects on heavy rainfall event over central Vietnam in October 2021" use observation data and high-resolution (3 km) simulations from the WRF model, driven by FNL data, to investigate the causes of heavy rain over Central Vietnam from 22nd to 29th October 2021. Our findings confirm the significant role of topography in causing heavy rain. In terms of the atmosphere’s vertical structure, the surface’s northeast wind, almost perpendicular to the Central region’s topography, combined with the east wind and trade winds above, caused strong convection.

This study focuses on factors contributing to the development of the retail banking services (RBS) in Hanoi, Vietnam. A four factor model is established, corresponding to four hypotheses in this paper. Based on a sample size of 615 customers and through a multiple regression analysis, results show that IT infrastructure - service channels and tangibles are factors contributing to the development of the RBS in Hanoi, Vietnam.

The transport and logistics sector in Vietnam is set to become an attractive sector for foreign companies and investors. Obligations under Vietnam’s WTO and bilateral and multilateral free trade agreements will open the logistics sector further to foreign companies to compete on an equal footing with domestic companies. The Vietnamese government is also considering greater involvement of more private sector companies and investors in the expansion of domestic infrastructure.
