  • Revival of traditional embroidery painting is considered as an important aspect in present scenario. A study was conducted to explore the possibility of adaptation of kathiawar embroidery motifs for fabric painting. Seventy collected kathiawar embroidery motifs were categorized as geometrical, floral and animal & bird motifs and were screened into thirty motifs keeping in mind their suitability for fabric painting on jacket. These three categories included ten motifs each. Thus, a total of thirty motifs were finalized for further research work.
