Training programmes on extension functionaries

The State Agriculture Management and Extension Training Institute (SAMETI) as a part of Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) programme. SAMETI (N) conducts HRD activities in thirteen northern districts of Karnataka and is located in University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad, Karnataka. The present study has been carried out to know the effectiveness of training programmes of SAMETI (N) on extension functionaries during 2019 in Belgaum, Dharwad and Gadag districts.

This paper focuses the capacity building of 167 young extension functionaries of Odisha state by means of organizing a series of 8 training programmes on "New Dimensions In Agricultural Extension Management" during 2014-15 at EEI Good Learning effectiveness of the learners by means of gain in knowledge and skills acquired with appropriately designed and administered instrument was the major outcome of the paper.

Krishi Vigyan Kendras or Farm Science Centres have been established by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research in all districts of Tamil Nadu. The trust areas of KVKs are refinement and demonstration of technologies, and training of farmers, farm women, rural youth and extension functionaries. Imparting trainings in agriculture and allied fields for the rural youth is one of its mandates. Effective training is considered as an important factor in determining the efficiency of an organization which depends upon the capability of its trainees.
