Limited information is available for guiding the management of upper urinary tract (UUT) urothelial carcinoma with squamous differentiation (UC-SqD). We did not even know about the difference between pure urothelial carcinoma (UC) and UC-SqD in the UUT regardless of treatment policy and prognosis.

Bladder and urinary tract cancers account for approximately 21,000 new diagnoses and 5,000 deaths annually in the UK. Approximately 90% are transitional cell carcinomas where advanced disease is treated with platinum based chemotherapy and PD-1/PD-L1 directed immunotherapy.

After oral administration, probiotic lactobacilli meet a number of protection systems in the human body, such as exposure to gastric, pancreatic, and small intestinal juices. Overcoming these detrimental barriers allows living bacteria to adhere to the intestinal epithelium and permanently colonize the gastrointestinal tract (GIT), providing health benefits to the host. Based on this, the transit tolerance of 25 candidate probiotic lactobacilli from katak, yoghurt, and white-brined and yellow cheese to simulated bile and small intestinal juices of variable pH was investigated.

Valvulogenesis and septation in the developing heart depend on the formation and remodeling of endocardial cushions in the atrioventricular canal (AVC) and outflow tract (OFT). These cushions are invaded by a subpopulation of endocardial cells that undergo an epithelial-mesenchymal transition in response to paracrine and autocrine transforming growth factor β (TGFβ) signals.

Development of the valves and septa of the heart depends on the formation and remodeling of the endocardial cushions in the atrioventricular canal and outflow tract. These cushions are populated by mesenchyme produced from the endocardium by epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT).

Patients with transitional cell carcinoma of the urothelial tract (TCCU) who fail initial platinum-based chemotherapy for advanced disease represent a challenge in daily clinical practice. Vinflunine is approved by the European Medicine Agency (EMA) but, up to now, limited experience has been reported outside clinical trials.

Ovarian cancer is the most common malignant tumor of the female reproductive tract. Chemoresistance is a major challenge for current ovarian cancer therapy. However, the mechanism underlying epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) chemoresistance is not completely uncovered.

In the present study, mean performance of genotypes, based on growth and yield attributing traits of genotypes viz., DCC 5 (16.56 g), DCC 38 (16.56 g) and DCC 32 (16.35 g), followed by DCC 28 (14.69 g), DCC 35 (14.26 g), DCC 21 (13.38 g) and DCC 23 (12.21g) were identified as high yielding leafy types. Whereas, DCC 5 (2.94 g), DCC 38 (2.86 g), DCC 23 (2.85 g), DCC 35 (2.64 g), DCC 39 (2.52 g) and DCC 21 (2.42 g) recorded the maximum dry herbage yield during the whole season. These genotypes can be used successfully for further breeding programmes.

Congenital abnormalities of the kidney and urinary tract are common. In particular, the duplicated collecting system is one of the most common kidney abnormalities, but most are asymptomatic. The pathogenesis of these abnormalities is also known very little and some pathogenic genes are thought to be related.

A transitional cell epithelium lines the urinary tract from the renal pelvis to the ureter, urinary bladder, and the proximal two-thirds of the urethra. Cancers can occur at any point: 90% of malignancies develop in the bladder, 8% in the renal pelvis, and the remaining 2% in the ureter or urethra. Bladder cancer is the fourth most common cancer in men and the thirteenth in women, with an estimated 67,160 new cases and 13,750 deaths in the United States predicted for the year 2007.

Cancers of the Anus Cancers of the anus account for 1–2% of the malignant tumors of the large bowel. Most such lesions arise in the anal canal, the anatomic area extending from the anorectal ring to a zone approximately halfway between the pectinate (or dentate) line and the anal verge. Carcinomas arising proximal to the pectinate line (i.e., in the transitional zone between the glandular mucosa of the rectum and the squamous epithelium of the distal anus) are known as basaloid, cuboidal, or cloacogenic tumors; about one-third of anal cancers have this histologic pattern.
