Characterization with FTIR, powder X-ray diffraction, field emission scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and atomic force microscopy confirmed the successful synthesis of nanocomposites with good dispersion of nanoparticles in the polymer matrix. Both field emission scanning electron microscope and transmission electron microscope analyses showed that the cerium oxide was well dispersed in the PAA matrix; it was dispersed in the PAA matrix on a nanometer scale.

Zinc oxide nanowires (ZnO NWs) were prepared and characterized by scanning electron microscopy, powder X-ray diffraction, and transmission electron microscopy analyses. ZnO NWs were then employed as heterogeneous and recyclable catalyst for green synthesis of some new and known bispyrazole derivatives through a tandem Knoevenagel and Michael type addition reaction of aromatic aldehyde and pyrazolone. The synthetic method is operationally simple and affords product with high yields in short reaction times.

In the present study, we have follwed the hydrothermal path for the synthesis of gold nanoparticles (Au NPs) from the biomaterial Elaeocarpus ganitrus seeds extract, which is a rapid, eco-friendly, non-chemical way. The prepared NPs were thoroughly analysed by powder x-ray diffraction and high resolution transmission electron microscopy studies and were also tested for anticancer studies.

Mesostructured cellular foam silica was functionalized by an amino group (MCF-NH2) using the postsynthesis grafting method and utilized as a recyclable catalyst for the Knoevenagel reaction to afford α, β-unsaturated compounds. The catalyst was systematically characterized by various analyses such as nitrogen adsorption, X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectrophotometry, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, and Hammett indicator method.

In this study, the effects of starting material types on graphene oxide (GO) are reported with the aim of developing graphene (GR) synthesis. The GOs were prepared from natural graphite (NG) powder and graphite nanoplate (GNp) based on the Hummers method. Two kinds of GR were successfully synthesized using GOs, which were prepared from NG and GNp in the presence of hydrazine and ammonia for 24 h at a 100◦C reaction temperature.

PAn (polyaniline) and PAn/ZnO photocatalysts were synthesized using chemical polymerization of aniline. The structure characterization of the synthesized samples was analysed by using X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and UV-Vis spectroscopy measurements, and thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA). The photocatalytic activities of PAn and PAn/ZnO (0.

This study reports a detailed analysis of an electrode material containing poly(phenolphthalein), carbon nanotubes and gold nanoparticles which shows superior catalytic effect towards to hydrazine oxidation in Britton–Robinson buffer (pH 10.0). Glassy carbon electrode was modified by electropolymerization of phenolphthalein (PP) monomer (poly(PP)/GCE) and the multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) was dropped on the surface. This modified surface was electrodeposited with gold nanoparticles (AuNPs/CNT/poly(PP)/GCE).

The present study shows a novel method for the synthesis of uniformly-shaped poly(othophenylediamine) (PoPD) nanofibers by chemical oxidative polymerization method for application towards smart corrosion resistance coatings. Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) studies confirm morphology of PoPD with three dimensional (3D) networked dendritic superstructures having average diameter of 50–70 nm and several hundred meters of length.

In this study, CuO-doped material fabricated from rice husk ash and red mud was modified by CeO2 promoter and urea using the impregnation method. The obtained samples were investigated for catalytic degradation of aromatic derivatives (benzene, toluene, and p-xylene - BTX) at a temperature range of 275 to 450o C. This demonstrated that all samples were highly active in the BTX treatment.
