  • A new freshwater ostracod genus, Comalcandona gen. nov., and its type species (Comalcandona tressleri sp. nov.) are described from John Knox Ranch, Comal County, Texas, USA. The new genus differs from the related genera in the presence of the shallow pits on the trapezoidal shape of the carapace and presence of one well-developed anterior claw (posterior claw and both anterior and posterior setae are absent) on the uropod, a diagnostic character.

  • This study focuses on development of a high compact magnetorheological brake (MRB) for application in motorcycles. The proposed MRB consists of a rotor with multiple trapezoidal teeth mating with dual trapezoidal teeth on inner face of the housing. The teeth act at multiple magnetic poles of the brake. The gap between the mating teeth is filled with MR fluid.

  • In this paper, the Legendre spectral-collocation method was applied to obtain approximate solutions for some types of fractional optimal control problems (FOCPs). The fractional derivative was described in the Caputo sense. Two different approaches were presented, in the first approach, necessary optimality conditions in terms of the associated Hamiltonian were approximated. In the second approach, the state equation was discretized first using the trapezoidal rule for the numerical integration followed by the Rayleigh–Ritz method to evaluate both the state and control variables.

  • This paper investigates a Supply Chain System for deteriorating items in which a supplier supplies a manufacturer with raw material, and the manufacturer produces the finished goods. Demand rate is assumed to be time-sensitive in nature (Trapezoidal type), which allows three-phase variation in demand, and production rate is demand dependent. Our adoption of trapezoidal type demand reflects a real market demand for newly launched product.
