In this study, laboratory wastewater containing organic matters, heavy metals and aromatic compounds, was treated by vetiver grass (Vetiveria zizanioides) as a phytoremediation. Sewage effluent as a source of nutrient supply for plant growth was first fed to two wetland systems: Mini horizontal subsurface flow (HSSF) and floating raft (FR) wetlands.

The aim of this experiment was to investigate the ability of geranium plants (Pelargonium hortorum) to purify a secondary treated wastewater using Epuvalisation technique in greenhouse environment. The main objectives of this study were to plant geranium plants (Pelargonium hortorum) in epuvalisation system using secondary treated wastewater and fresh water and to determine the plant growth parameters and plant tissue analysis during and at the end of the seasons.

The aim of research: Determination of greywater characteristics from some buildings in Hanoi city; Explaination of the principle of removing the main pollutants out of greywater by using laterite with multi soil layering engineering; Determination of decomposition rate coefficients of BOD5, COD and NH4 + -N. The number of laterite layer is calculated based on these coefficients; Successful greywater treatment from building by using laterite with Multi Soil Layering engineering and the treated effluent meet up the National Regulations

The complete treatment of colors and hazardous substances at a reasonable cost is of particular interest in the textile industry. In this batch form study, dye solution and textile dyeing wastewater were successfully treated by Fenton technology combining Moving Bed Reactor/Activated carbon (Fenton-MBR/AC) system. The optimum operating conditions including 3.5 of pH value, 0.5 of Fe/H2O2 ratio, 25mL of H2O2 (30%) solution, and 200mL of sample were found. After 60 min, the color removal and efficiency of COD treatment was 94% and 89%, respectively.

In this study Physico- Chemical parameters of the untreated effluent and treated effluents of M/s ITC Ltd., Paperboards Specialty Papers Division, Bhadrachalam, was taken up. On analysis of the samples, it is observed that the Physico- chemical parameters which are in higher levels initially get reduced on the biological and chemical treatment at the effluent treatment plant of the unit.

The present study was envisaged to check the physico-chemical properties of effluents being treated at CETPs and to isolate indigenous heavy metal tolerant bacteria for their subsequent utilization for heavy metal uptake. Effluent samples were collected from two CETPs located in Ludhiana and Jalandhar and were analyzed for their physico-chemical parameters (dissolved oxygen (DO), biological oxygen demand (BOD), chemical oxygen demand (COD) and pH) and heavy metal profile using Inductively Coupled Argon Plasma-Emission Spectroscopy (ICAP-AES).

Constructed wetlands (CWs) have been used to treat various types of wastewaters such as urban runoff, acid mine drainage, municipal, industrial, and livestock wastewaters. This study was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of two constructed wetlands (surface and horizontal subsurface flows) for piggery wastewater treatment after biogas process. The wetland plant Phragmites australis Cav. was used in two CWs. The flow rate of the CWs was 100 liters/day with the hydraulic retention time (HRT) of 3 days.

Ultrafiltration membrane was used to treat the effluent from textile industries. Crossflow ultrafiltration using GN polymeric membrane was used to remove the dye from textile effluent. A synthetic textile effluent of Direct-15 dye was used. The study focused through the effect of feed concentration, transmembrane pressure and solution’s pH on the permeate flux and percentage of dye removal were investigated. Dye concentration had significant effects on flux values. Under the fixed pressures and pH, the flux decreased while the dye rejection increased with increasing feed concentration.

Alkaline pulping liquors are the problematic for environment due to their toxicity and poor biodegradability. During last decade, anaerobic treatment technology has been successfully applied to various types of pulp and paper industry effluents. In the present study, the treatment of highly toxic pulping liquors in lab-scale has been done using sulfate reducing bacteria (SRB) isolated from sediment samples of pulp and paper mills in Vietnam. This treatment could reduce 70 - 75% of COD after three weeks. The COD removal could achieve 82 - 88% by subsequent aerobic treatment in 48 hours.

Paper and pulp mills discharge large volumes of wastewater into the environment. Crop productivity can be improved by using this wastewater, which is rich in salts and nutrients, as an irrigation source improves crop productivity by supplying enormous amount of nutrients. But for a long termit leads to development of soil salinity and sodicity and also calcareousness.

After a marine life disaster in central Viet Nam in 2016 due to poorly treated steel industry wastewater and pipe cleaning solutions, the Formosa Steel Corporation has been improved their wastewater treatment systems. Besides, an effluent polishing and buffer pond – wetland system has to be built. The study team has run the 500 m2 pilot wetland aiming to figure out optimum design parameters such as: balancing requirements of hydraulic conductivity, hydraulic headloss, filtration efficiency and plant growth.

An experiment was conducted at the Main Agricultural Research Station, University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad, Karnataka, India during 2014 to study the effect of horizontal constructed wetland treatment of domestic sewage effluent on its quality and effect of its irrigation on soil nitrogen dynamics both temporally and spatially. The analytical results revealed that there was improvement in the quality of sewage effluent after passing through the constructed wetland treatment system which was reflected by reduction in pH, EC, BOD, COD and TSS.

Water is a essential source, nowadays days the resources of the water and its availability is lacking. Industrial pollutions like textiles, leather, food industries, pharmaceuticals are the major part of pollutants and creating a major problems. Especially textile areas, uses high colorant synthetic chemical dyes, and also recalcitrant, mutagenic in nature.
