This study focuses on the synthesis of V-doped TiO2 materials using a modified polyol method to enhance their efficiency. The obtained materials were characterized by various methods such as XRD, EDX, FTIR, SEM, TEMSAED, Raman, and UV-Vis DRS. The results indicated the crystalline anatase phase of TiO2, with spherical morphology and an average size of 30nm. The UV-DRS measurement demonstrated that doped materials have a lower bandgap than the pristine TiO2.

The objective of this thesis was to investigate the development of a micro-electromechanical system (MEMS) which can be implanted in the eye to provide continuous monitoring of glaucoma conditions. Current glaucoma monitoring involves taking laboratory based intra ocular pressure (IOP) measurements. The measurement of intraocular fluid flow and IOP parameters related to blockage formation in the eye require to be continuously monitored in Glaucoma.

The primary aims of this thesis are: A) to measure the dependence of the DAPR20,10 on the size of the primary small photon field, and to relate this data to TPR20,10 of the reference field. B) to develop a method of using a large-area ionization chamber to compare the measured dosearea product to that calculated by a treatment planning system. C) To gain further understanding of the dose-area product by supplementing the results with 2D high resolution film dosimetry.

Those living with disadvantage suffer from higher rates of chronic conditions and multimorbidities. Little work has been done to investigate how this cohort experience patient-centred care and what their outcomes might be. This study showed that as a result of a short course of treatment clients experienced better levels of health and wellbeing and decreased levels of pain and disability. Interview data suggest that this may be due to a combination of therapy, setting and relationships formed within that setting.

An investigation was carried out at Norman E. Borlaug Crop Research Centre of G. B. Pant Univ. Agric. & Tech. Pantnagar, U. S. Nagar, Uttarakhand, India in order to study the influence of long-term applications of fertilizers and manures on different soil physical properties after forty two cycles in silty clay loam textured Typic Haplustept under ricewheat cropping sequence during 2012-13. The field was laid out in a randomized block design comprising of ten treatments.

In this study, the air-plasma generated by radio-frequency was used to treat bamboo fiber. The treatment parameters were studied to find the suitable condition. The testing on tensile strength, tensile modulus, module Weibull and elongation to break of the fiber, the measurement of contact angles and the SEM analysis showed that at the high frequency of 12 kHz, power 50 W and treatment time of 5 minutes, after air-plasma treatment the tensile strength and tensile modulus of bamboo fiber increased more than double (101.1% and 101.

Jurkat T lymphocytes were treated with daunorubicin and WP631, a daunorubicin-based DNAbinding agent, in experiments aimed to analyze cellular uptake of these drugs and their effect on cell viability. WP631 was taken up more slowly than daunorubicin, but laser confocal microscopy and spectrofluorometricquantificationshowed that thedrug accumulated in the cells. Despite the slow uptake rate, the antiproliferative capacity of WP631 (measured as IC50after a 72-h continuous treatment) was greater than that of daunorubicin.

The role of oxidative stress in pilocarpine-induced status epilepticus was investigated by measuring lipid peroxidation level, nitrite content, GSH con-centration, and superoxide dismutase and catalase activities in the hippo-campus of Wistar rats. The control group was subcutaneously injected with 0.9% saline. The experimental group received pilocarpine (400 mgÆkg )1 , subcutaneous). Both groups were killed 24 h after treatment.

Hepatopathy and hepatomegaly as consequences of prolonged fasting or illnesses are typical clinical features of very long chain acyl-CoA dehydro-genase (VLCACD) deficiency, the most common long-chain fatty acid b-oxidationdefect. Supplementationwithmedium-chain triglycerides (MCTs) is an important treatment measure in these defects, in order to supply suffi-cient energy.

Tetanus: Treatment General Measures The goals of therapy are to eliminate the source of toxin, neutralize unbound toxin, and prevent muscle spasms while monitoring the patient's condition and providing support—especially respiratory support—until recovery. Patients should be admitted to a quiet room in an intensive care unit, where observation and cardiopulmonary monitoring can be maintained continuously but stimulation can be minimized. Protection of the airway is vital. Wounds should be explored, carefully cleansed, and thoroughly debrided.

Vaccine Patients recovering from tetanus should be actively immunized (see below) because immunity is not induced by the small amount of toxin required to produce disease. Additional Measures Like all patients receiving ventilatory support, patients with tetanus require attention to hydration; nutrition; physiotherapy; prophylactic anticoagulation; bowel, bladder, and renal function; decubitus ulcer prevention; and treatment of intercurrent infection.
