A field trail in a complete Randomized Design was conducted at Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya, West Bengal during 2010-2011 to assess the growth, flowering, fruiting, yield and quality of tamarind of five varieties namely PKM-1, Urigam, Vantoor, Red and Sweet. The results indicated superiority of variety PKM-1 with plant height (445.33- 569 cm), East-west canopy expansion (458.67- 604.00 cm), number of fruit retention panicle-1 (44.33%), TSS (480 Brix), total sugar (40.33 g) with lower acidity (6.7 mg).

In the present study, morphological traits of growth, fruits and quality were observed in different genotypes of Sea buckthorn growing naturally in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, India. The mean performance of plant resources was studied and phenotypic characters were evaluated. Mean values for almost all the characters were found higher in genotype CH-41. Different genotypes showed varied morphology from shrub to tree with plant height ranging from 3m to 6m.

Although, India is the largest mango producing country in the world and also is the home of more than 1,000 mango cultivars but the productivity of mango in our country is low. Hence improvement work for the development of mango cultivars with higher yield and productivity is the utmost importance. For successful improvement work, proper identification of genetic resources or the parental materials is the basic need. Hence, the aim of study was to identify, characterize and recommend mango cultivars to broaden the varietal spectrum.

Effect of spacing and pruning on flowering characters of guava (Psidium guajava L.) cv. Hisar Safeda
Effect of spacing and pruning on flowering behavior of guava was studied at Horticulture research block, CCS Haryana Agricultural University Hisar in both rainy and winter season during the year 2016-17. Experiment was laid out with nine different spacings i.e. 6×2 m, 6×3 m, 6× 4 m, 6×5 m, 5×2 m, 5× 3 m, 5× 4 m, 5× 5 m and 6×6 m and two pruning levels viz. no pruning and 50% shoot pruning of last season growth. Shortest duration of flowering was found with pruned and widest (6×6 m) spacings.
