Agroforestry is a dynamic and sustainable land management system of deliberately growing woody perennials along with agricultural crops on farmlands to secure both tangible and intangible benefits to the farmers.It plays a vital role in conserving our natural resources, thus it is a step towards sustainable productivity. Sacrifice of animals and birds for socio-cultural and religious events have long been an indispensable part of human civilization. The present exploratory investigation was directed in this direction to study poultry sacrifices among the tribal people of Koraput district-a tribal dominated area of Southern Odisha. Six tribal people who facilitate religious practices for the tribal people were taken as cases for this study. They were selected on the basis of having long duration of practising the rituals for benefit of the community.

An assessment trial was conducted at farmer’s field of adopted village Awalia of RVSKVV, Krishi Vigyan Kendra Dhar, M. P. during the rabi season, 2016-17. Among the various cucurbits polyculture with tomato on raised bed, the higher return obtained from the polyculture with ridge gourd and tomato on raised bed cultivation. It is concluded that polyculture are not contradicted by the observation that one monoculture can be the most profitable method per ha.
