  • The study highlights the extent of tribal farm women’s actively participation through various farm and household activities for livelihood security to their family life in rice based farming system. A study was undertaken in Narayanpur district in Bastar plateau of Chhattisgarh state to analyze the livelihood security through tribal farm women in rice based farming system and identify different farm development activities. The participations of tribal farm women in Narayanpur district mainly from rice cultivation, horticulture and animal husbandry activities were taken for the study.

  • Pig farming is dispensable to the tribal folks of Manipur, India. In this study, we tried to establish baseline information on the socio-personal and socio-economical status of small scale tribal pig farmers in the state. Altogether, 400 tribal pig farmers, rearing ≥ 2 pigs were selected randomly and interviewed from 4 blocks of Senapati district, Manipur. The study showed that majority of tribal pig farmers (69.75%) belonged to middle age groups (31-50 years), followed by 19.25% young age groups (up to 30 years), and 11% old age groups (> 50 years), respectively.

  • This study was undertaken to document the gendered access to assets, to assess and improve the nutritional status of tribal women and children, to facilitate capacity building and skill upgradation through need based and sustainable interventions for improving livelihood and to document the impact. The sample of the study include 160 tribal families from two clusters of tribal villages in Shamakhunta block in Mayurbhanj district and R. Udayagiri block of Gajapati district in Odisha.

Tribal people are amongst the poorest population and experiencing extreme levels of health deprivation. Tribal follows very distinct dietary pattern and mainly rely upon locally available crops.   • The present study attempts to view the profile of tribal women farmers of Uttarakhand and their opinion towards farming as an occupation. The study was purposively conducted in Uttarakhand.
