This study deals with the consumer sensory evaluation of herbal flavoured milk prepared with the help of herbs having medicinal properties. Three herbs that have been chosen are Fennel, Tulsi and Lemongrass Oil. This herbal flavored milk is prepared for with different compositions of these flavours and the effect is studied. The correlation has been established between different age group, gender and weight with their liking (sensory evaluation).

Ocimum sanctum L. or “Tulsi” or Holy basil is a plant well known for its medicinal properties. This plant is rich in essential oil sequestered in peltate glands. The Tulsi is rich source of eugenol, methyl eugenol, chavicol, ursolic acid, rosmerinic acid and other phenolics and terpenes. Aloe barbadensis and Plantago ovata are plants rich in polysaccharides. These plants are very important medicinal plants. A. barbadensis is source of aloin which is used in various cosmetic products and P. ovata is the main source of Isabgol-Husk.

In seeds of Isabgol, test of relative efficacy of four traditional seed dresser like tulsi leaf powder, mehandi leaves, turmeric powder and neem leaf powder revealed that neem leaf powder gave effective control of Alternaria alternate and Fusarium semitectum are followed by tulsi leaf powder and which resulted increased into germination even after 6 month storage as compared to control. Four oils like neem, mustard, castorl and palas oil were used for seed treatment and it was observed that the neem oil gave effective control even after six months of storage as compared to control.

A study was conducted in vitro to control Colletotrichum dematium causing anthracnose disease of groundnut with Trichoderma harzianum and botanicals. Five botanicals viz., Datura leaf extract, Tulsi leaf extract, Garlic bulb extract, Neem oil and Eucalyptus oil at the rate of 5% were evaluated for their efficacy against the radial colony growth of C. dematium. The complete inhibition was obtained in Eucalyptus oil (100%) followed by T. harzianum (71.01%), datura leaf extract (64.78%), tulsi leaf extract (63.63%), neem oil (49.14%) and garlic bulb extract (43.35%).
