Glioblastoma is a malignant and aggressive type of central nevous system malignancy characterized by many distinct biological features including extensive hypoxia. Hypoxia in glioblatoma associates with complex signaling patterns including activation of several pathways such as MAPK, PI3K-AKT/mTOR and IL-6/JAK/STAT3 with the master regulator HIF-1, which in turn drive particular tumor behaviors determining, in the end, treatment outcomes and patients fate.

Altered glycosylation is a hallmark of cancer associated with therapy resistance and tumor behavior. In this study, we investigated the glycosylation profile of stemness-related proteins OCT4, CIP2A, MET, and LIMA1 in HNSCC tumors.

In children, the central nervous system tumors are exceeded in incidence only by leukemia and are more common than any of the other malignancies of childhood. Childhood central nervous system tumors encompass a range of histologic varieties from the histologically benignappearing pilocytic astrocytoma to the extremely malignant-appearing glioblastoma multiforme and the undifferentiated primitive neuroectodermal tumors. Similarly, the biologic behavior of childhood brain tumors varies not only according to histology but also with location of the tumor and age.

Squamous cell carcinoma (SqCC) is a subtype of non-small cell lung cancer for which patient prognosis remains poor. The extracellular matrix (ECM) is critical in regulating cell behavior; however, its importance in tumor aggressiveness remains to be comprehensively characterized.

Glioblastoma belongs to the most common and most aggressive tumor entity of the central nervous system with a poor prognosis of only few months. Once manifested, it grows fast and diffusely by infiltrating the surrounding brain parenchyma. Despite its aggressive behavior, glioblastoma rarely presents with multiple lesions and metastasis to intra- and extracranial tissues.

Meningiomas are the most commonly encountered intracranial tumors, usually showing indolent behavior. Extra-axial spreading and distant metastases are seldom detected in these tumors, and lung metastasis from a low-grade meningioma is a rare event.

The malignant behaviors of lung cancers are affected by not only cancer cells but also many kinds of stromal cells in tumor microenvironment (TME), including macrophages. Macrophages have been proven to extensively influence tumor progression through several mechanisms, among which switching of macrophages from proinflammatory phenotypes (M1-like) to anti-inflammatory phenotypes (M2-like) mediated by transcription factors such as nuclear factor κB (NF-κB) is the most crucial event. The regulation of NF-κB has been well studied, however some details remain fuzzy.

We aimed to describe the behavior among Chinese ovarian cancer patients with RAD51D germline mutations at our institution. Methods: Next-generation sequencing (NGS) was conducted for the entire coding regions and exon/intron boundaries of the RAD51D genes in 781 Chinese ovarian cancer patients treated at our institution from January 1, 2015 to August 1, 2021.

CXC chemokine ligand 3 (CXCL3) is a member of CXC-type chemokine family that is identified as a major regulator in immune and inflammation responses. Recently, numerous evidence indicated that CXCL3 is broadly expressed in various human tumor types, and it is also known to play a critical role in mediating tumor development and progression.

To investigate how the negative regulation of CD44st by miR-138-5p affects the invasive ability of breast cancer cell lines and prognosis in postoperative breast cancer patients. RT-PCR, qRT-PCR, and western blot assays were used to detect the expression of CD44s, CD44v6, and CD44st at both mRNA and protein levels. The expression of miR-138-5p in breast cancer cell lines was also evaluated.

Leucine-rich pentatricopeptide repeat containing (LRPPRC) is a potential oncogene in multiple tumor types, including lung adenocarcinoma, esophageal squamous cell carcinoma and gastric cancer. LRPPRC exerts its tumor-promoting effects mainly by regulating mitochondrial homeostasis and inducing oxidative stress.

With the in-depth research on the tumor microenvironment, the tumor stroma is considered to play a leading role in malignant tumor behavior, and PD-L1 is also related to the tumor stroma. The tumor–stroma ratio (TSR) has been regarded as a novel prognostic factor in many cancers. Our study aims to assess the TSR and PD-L1 clinical value in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients.

Clear cell sarcoma of the kidney is an uncommon pediatric renal malignant neoplasm that is typically characterized in 2–3-year-olds by aggressive behavior and late relapses. Our literature review revealed fewer than ten previously reported cases of CCSK with inferior vena cava thrombus, with only five in the pediatric age group.

CXCL1 belongs to a member of the ELR+CXC chemokine subgroups that also known as GRO-alpha. It has been recognized that several types of human cancers constitutively express CXCL1, which may serve as a crucial mediator involved in cancer development and metastasis via an autocrine and/or paracrine fashion.

N6 -methyladenosine (m6 A) mRNA modification triggers malignant behaviors of tumor cells and thereby drives malignant progression in gastric cancer (GC). However, data regarding the prognostic values of m6 A RNA methylation-related long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) in GC are very limited in the literature.
