Tumor doubling time

Prior reports described cases of lymphoproliferative diseases occurring after methotrexate (MTX) administration, which are called methotrexate-associated lymphoproliferative disorders (MTX-LPDs). It has become clear that these lymphoproliferative diseases also occur following treatment with other immunosuppressive drugs, and they have been termed as other iatrogenic immunodeficiency-associated lymphoproliferative disorders (OIIA-LPDs).

Screening for lung cancer has used chest radiography (CR), low dose computed tomography (LDCT) and sputum cytology (SC). Estimates of the lead time (LT), i.e., the time interval from detection of lung cancer by screening to the development of symptoms, have been derived from longitudinal studies of populations at risk, tumor doubling time (DT), the ratio between its prevalence at the first round of screening and its annual incidence during follow-up, and by probability modeling derived from the results of screening trials.

A 65 year old female with complaints of upper abdomen pain for 3 months, associated with loss of appetite, h/o increase in micturition association of burning micturition. Ugiscopy suggestive of CA stomach and Ultrasound abdomen suggests polypodial lesion over the bladder. MRI suggests gastric malignancy and intense polypoid lesion seen in the posterior wall of the urinary bladder. Pt underwent TURBT (Transurethral Resection of Bladder Tumor) with subtotal gastrectomy with jejunojejunostomy with feeding jejunostomy.

The magic roundabout receptor 4 (Robo 4) is a tumor endothelial marker expressed in the vascular network of various tumor entities. However, the role of Robo 4 in prostate cancer (PCa), the second common cause of cancer death among men in –developed countries, has not been described yet. The annual system shipments of fuel cells for transport applications continue to fl uctuate due to the timing of demonstration projects which contribute large numbers in one year and then little in the following years. We saw a 38% dip in annual system shipments for 2011 versus 2010, with decreases in all sub-categories except scooters.
