EphrinA (EFNA) are Eph receptor ligands that regulate various disease processes. Nonetheless, the expression characteristics of EFNAs in pan-cancer, their relationship with tumor immune microenvironment, and prognostic value landscape remain unknown.

Despite the understanding of the COP9 signalosome subunit 5 (CSN5) in tumor genesis, there is no conclusive evidence on its value to predict the survival and prognosis of digestive system tumor patients. Hence this study aimed to evaluate the impact of CSN5 levels on the survival and clinicopathological parameters of digestive system neoplasm patients.

Somatically acquired structure variations (SVs) and copy number variations (CNVs) can induce genetic changes that are directly related to tumor genesis. Somatic SV/CNV detection using next-generation sequencing (NGS) data still faces major challenges introduced by tumor sample characteristics, such as ploidy, heterogeneity, and purity.

Glioblastoma (GBM) is the most malignant brain tumor. Many abnormal secretion and expression of cytokines have been found in GBM, initially speculated that the occurrence of GBM may be involved in these abnormal secretion of cytokines. This study aims to detect the association of cytokine genes with GBM.

Unperturbed tumor growth kinetics is one of the more studied cancer topics; however, it is poorly understood. Mathematical modeling is a useful tool to elucidate new mechanisms involved in tumor growth kinetics, which can be relevant to understand cancer genesis and select the most suitable treatment.

We have isolated and studied the cloned sigma factors SASIG1-3 from mustard (Sinapis alba). In functional ana-lyses using both promoter and factor mutants, the three recombinant proteins all had similar basic properties but also revealed differences in promoter preference and requirements for single nucleotide positions. Directedmuta-genesis of SASIG1 identified critical residues within the conserved regions 2.4 and 4.2 necessary for binding of the )10 and)35 promoter elements, respectively.

Cytidine 5¢-triphosphate synthase catalyses the ATP-dependent formation of CTP from UTP using either ammonia orL-glutamine as the source of nitrogen. When glutamine is the substrate, GTP is required as an allosteric effector to promote catalysis. Limited trypsin-catalysed proteolysis, Edman degradation, and site-directed muta-genesis were used to identify peptide bonds C-terminal to three basic residues (Lys187, Arg429, and Lys432) of Escherichia coliCTP synthase thatwere highly susceptible to proteolysis. ...

The EF-hand protein S100A2 is a cell cycle regulator involved in tumori-genesis, acting through regulation of the p53 activation state. Metal ion-free S100A2 is homodimeric and contains two Ca 2+ -binding sites and two Zn 2+ -binding sites per subunit, whereby the Zn 2+ ion binding to one of the sites is coordinated by residues from two homodimers.
