Understanding the processes of displacement and redistribution of soil particles caused by different erosion types is considered an efficient sediment management tool in various scales from the field plot to the watershed. The rainfed agriculture practices on high gradient slopes are one of the main sources of accelerated soil erosion due to the disturbance of soil structure by tillage processes.

In this study, we identified the effect of different GO doses (0, 0.25, 0.50, 0.75, and 1.0 mg/mL) on seed germination of melon (Cucumis melo L. cvs. ‘Hasanbey’, ‘Kırkağaç-589’, and ‘Kırkağaç-637’) seeds under the salinity stress. The effect of GO as a priming material showed variance depending on the GO dose, melon cultivars, and level of salinity stress. It was determined that the germination percentage and the length of the radicle were higher in GO primed seeds compared to the control in all the melon cultivars tested.

The present study evaluated the possible potential of amino acids in enhancing the salinity tolerance in spinach and identified the probable underlying mechanisms. The experiment comprised of two factors viz. amino acids with total of seven treatments; control, salinity (sal) 100 mM, Methionine + sal, Phenylalanine + sal, Proline + sal, Tyrosine + sal, Combined amino acids + sal, and two spinach cultivars (Desi Palak and VRI-2019).

A study was conducted to find out the extent of wild oat problems throughout Turkey including herbicide resistance. This paper includes results of determining the herbicide resistance status of AVELU populations to ACCase and ALS inhibitors that are fenoxaprop (Fen), pinoxaden (Pin), tralkoxydim (Tra), mesosulfuron+iodosulfuron (MeI), and proxycarbazone+mesosulfuron (PrM). AVELU seeds were collected from 213 wheat fields throughout Turkey in 2014–2015 and the response to selected five herbicides was tested under screen-house.

This investigation aimed to study the photosynthetic adaptability and shade tolerance of liana in riverside green space. For this purpose, the illumination intensity gradient is set to 2000, 1800, 1500, 1200, 1000, 800, 600, 400, 200, 100, 0 μmol·m-2·s-1, and the corresponding net photosynthetic rate (Pn) value is determined. After the data on the photosynthetic tester is stable, read the value and repeat the measurement 3 times for each gradient.

The objective of research "Identification of SNP markers linked to Rf locus in carrot using GBS" was to identify SNP markers linked to Rf locus and develop a genetic map of Rf gene in carrot. Cherry laurel is one of the most important cherry species and naturally grown in Black sea region in Turkey. Its fruits are sold at high price in local markets in northern parts of Turkey. Cherry laurel fruits are very perishable with a limited shelf life due to a high metabolic activity and susceptibility to mechanical damage and microbial attack. The effect of edible coatings (EC) based on caseinat, Semperfresh and lecithin on the fruit quality, bioactive content and antioxidant activity of cherry laurel fruits stored at 4 ± 1 °C for 15 days was evaluated.

The representation of cotton color is a key element in deciding the cotton grade. The color of cotton fibre is measured with instruments as well as visual assessment. But, these two methods always represent disagreement in the measurements. The main reason for disagreement is the trash particles on the cotton surface. The threshold segregation technique is used for the segmentation of trash and cotton fibres from the image of cotton sample. It is used in this research for the trash segmentation and precise color measurement.

The study reports cultivation, characterization, and seed production of 66 wild V. hispanica genotypes, collected throughout Turkey that represent the available genetic pool. The study was carried out in an unheated greenhouse in Antalya, under Mediterranean climate from December to early June. The populations were evaluated for 21 morphological and 6 agronomic traits.

The photoperiod and temperature sensitivity of the onset of flowering in 106 soybean accessions from the VIR collection has been studied for 8 years in a vegetation experiment in the conditions of Leningrad Province at 59°N, the northernmost point of soybean evaluation in the world. The accessions were previously field-assessed for the ability to form fully developed seeds in this region. The experimental conditions were extreme for soybean in terms of both photoperiod and heat supply.

Cadmium pollution now is one of the main environmental problems. Growing of plants hyper accumulators of Cd can help to remediate the polluted soils. Species Linum usitatissimum L. is one of such crops. Cadmium concentrations were analysed in the ashes of adult plants by x-ray fluorescence analyzer BRA – 18. The presence of pollutants did not influence flax germination ability, but tested genotypes showed different degrees of cadmium resistance.

In study "A preliminary study on change of mistletoe (Viscum album L.) silage quality according to collection time and host tree species", it was aimed to determine the silage quality of mistletoe (Viscum album L.) collected from wild pear (Pyrus amygdaliformis) and poplar trees (Populus canadensis) in January, July, August, and December. The fresh samples were chopped in 2 cm size and ensiled in 2 kg plastic bags then stored at 25 ± 2 °C conditions for 45 days.
